It's been a great weekend for the Olympics with Canada taking gold in Men's Hockey. But in the bike world great things were also happening. Tyler McCaul threw down a triple tail whip on the Mega Ramps with his brother Cam watching on.
miller was ready for a poke check and wasn't expecting a shot. crosby knew that. otherwise he would have went behind the net and made another game winning play.
but that doesn't matter, cause Canada is far more a machine than the States. don't even try to argue that one.
uhh bigdan30 thats a lie. we beat you 5 to 3 in the first game. and then in the second we had to go into overtime and then you unskillfully scored. im pretty sure the US is far more of a machine then canada. and the US got the most medals
If you guys wouldnt mind taking this pointless argument to a pm that would be much appreciated.... Nothing like logging into pinkbike and have 17 notifications on your dash from a hockey argument. The game is over, We won gold. Maybe next time america. The argument between canadians and americans will never end... imo
hey freezryder. yes, we are in fact catching up to the 20" wheels. have we met their trick difficulty? not at all. are we closer to their trick difficulty, now that we can do triple whips? absolutely. that's common sense.
Im going to be the first person of few to point out that bmx copied motocross! HENCE THE NAME! !doits!all of you who a still want to argue about mtb copying bmx etc are all total idiots! Im so sick of hearing it all, Bmx will always be ahead tricks wise because they started hmmmmm years before people started to shred mtbs! Fullbug gets the picture
well said joekb! trickin' evolves from bmx everything else adds amplitude and speed to it. unless there's an undergound mtb scene that's creating tricks bmxers haven't seen. props to your roots people!I'm sure every MTB DJer watches the bmx scene to learn and get ideas from djs to street to park and then translates it big to ss. oh yeah, sweet trick, Tyler!!!
much respect to the mccauls and soderstoms of the world AS WELL AS the condor, mirras and DMCs of the world too. It's all good cuz it's all guys progressing. the smack talk about one or the other is weak-ass plyground shite. grew up racing bmx and hope to grow old with mtbs. if you dig bikes you dig it all.
I realize the triple shows the progression of the sport, but I think the single at the beginning looks way better than the triple, kinda like how a big slow moto whip is still one of the best looking tricks, quality over quantity
Its cool but its not worth a fuss.
1. It was on a resi.
2. Quad whip was done on a BMX ages ago.
3. Its not landed til you land it to the pedals.
Now neg prop me all you like, but you know I'm right.
saw a bmx rider do a quad tailwhip over a ramp 5 times smaller than that and land it on his pedals. MTB street/freestyle is always sooo far behind, oh and tandembikemike who ever you are your kinda taking the piss out of mountain biking by saying there trying to be like bmxer's . If small bikes are silly why do mountain bikers try so hard to copy them and fail most of the time??? oh and if you wanna see it here's the link www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSpRdDfXHaQ
youre sooooooo fullll of shiiiiiiiiiiit bmx is a kids bike.. if you keep riding it when your older... you will never get out of the city.. or anywhere else for that matter.. we care about our bikes...well most of us do.. and we dont immitate you/bmxers .. we show you how its done on a real bike..
now with that said.. i can sleep comfortable tonight..
Because you know, even one of the guys at the forefront of slopestyle Greg Watts even said "we're so far behind BMX, we copy their tricks a couple years later..." If you want my to scan the interview of when he switched to Haro and said it, I'de be happy to.
Everybody know BMX is at the forefront. And for the idiot who said BMX compied motocross, yeah, it did, BMX RACING, meaning off road. The tricks had nothing to do with motocross. And even then, motocross is "so far behind BMX in tricks", it doesn't even matter.
Oh, and tell people like Dave Mirra, Jay Miron, Rueben Alcantara, and Ryan Nyquist "BMX are for kids", and they'll laugh at you all the way to the bank.
that was about 2 or 3 years to late, bmx did that first and now with 360s and flips, so keep trying mountianbikes, maybe if you make the jumps alittle bigger too
Any triple tail whip is gnarly, definitely not taking away from it.
But to the guy who said whipping it like the BMXers, the BMXers don't need that much run up or air.
doesn't count for much? then why would anyone ever ride a bike? surely to have fun and to amaze people? anyway i think there is a point, to progress the sport!
Gdawg, seeing as how your 27 you should be old enough to take a joke. You posted a hockey comment on a biking website, if I posted a biking comment on a hockey site I'm sure I would of gotten more colorful responses then a light hearted Kanye West quote. So with that said
Get bent.
