Heard talk yesterday afternoon that Hill took a spectactular crash on dead dog....no confirmed sightings though. Q'nr was on fire and it all finally clicked for him....this is the run he has wanted for the last 4 years or so, and finally got it. Good on yah Nick, everyone knew you were capable all along, just had to get it together all in the same day. Morland won this race 3 times I think (or was it 2?) and then the 3rd last year and this year.....total domination. Phelps' result won't be official until the blood test comes back to prove he is in face a human being.....totally nuts and dominating the hard tail class for 3 or 4 years now. This year the entire hard tail class was on chromag bikes.....hmmmmmmm, looking for a good (Proven!) free ride or dh hard tail, there ya go. Saw video footage of Kovarik over the road gap, insanely fast and huge whip at the same time. Guy was on his game for sure. It was an exciting event to say the least. The night was topped off with some wasted Aussie chick grotestcly breaking her ankle in the beer garden, foot was at 45 degrees to her leg and the bones were almost poking out of the skin......ooops.

Kovarik with the win at 12:35.14 and Nick closest behind with a 12:42, then Morland at 12:47 I think and Hill with 12:49, just edging out Mitchell who was in the hot seat for a loooooong time with a 12:50. Last years winning time and existing course record was Sam Hill's 12:49.

Massive amounts of organization go in to this race and tons of volunteers.
I think the organizers need a break... Aswell, the course takes a HUGE beating over the few weeks before the race and race weekend of course. The race destroys Mount Seven!(a lot of fun though)

Hardtail? I borrowed a fellow's hardtail and rode Mt 7 this past week...that was a mad workout for certain. Cable actuated brakes and levers cut short aside, that hill isn't the most friendly regardless. Kudos to Phelps. Dead Dog rules. Party on Team Pilsner.

Ya...I saw sam a bunch in practice...holly hell that guy is amazing to ride behind...sort of just floats and skips down the trail. Ya, not sure what happened to Sam, he looked confident and content with his run when he crossed the line...guess Chris just really wanted it...so stoked to see him Win again!!! HUGE HUGE HUGE props to Golden Search and Rescue!!! I've never seen 2 air lift evacuations from RTC happen so fast...those guys are absolutely amazing at there jobs! Also, get better to the fellows that took tumbles in Race day practice.
