E-13 still wins, RF does not make a purple ring

It was neat watching these get made down at Race Face yesterday when we were picking up our RaceFace product for the camp bikes. Thanks for the tour Jon. It was definitely cool to see where everything comes from.!

Nice to see race face back in the light weight ring game.

  • 1 0
 of course they will
  • 1 0
Sick! Gettin' one of these, since there is no white, does anybody know who design a single ring that is white and will work on the saints.
  • 1 0
look at my comment above ^^^^ i said it will work any 4 bolt pattern will work with saint
  • 2 0
Thats sooo sick. FIrst time im seeing the final versions, I'll be getting one.
  • 1 0
black looks nice , ill pass on the rest of the pastel color fruityness. If these are more than 30$ im getting a Surly instead...
  • 1 0
May i ask when exactly will these be hitting the stores? I've checked the RF site and CRC, no mention of it and i need a new ring; cant wait forever ~.~
  • 1 0
looks good! like an e thirteen one but drilled out more? if so that will be light as feck
  • 2 0
i like the dot matrix style graphic 'RACEFACE' looks neat !

I don't get it, why are they not compatible with 8 speed gear?
  • 1 0
They would work fine with 8,9,10 speed. 8 speed likely isn't mentioned because not as popular as the current 9 and 10 speed standards.
  • 1 0
i want the blue one for my bike!
  • 1 0
 competition for the gring?
  • 1 0
Im getting one for sure. too sick to pass up

Don't understand why they had to mount the ring on the back of the cranks... those silver tabs should be hidden by the chain ring.
  • 1 0
I'm not sure about that... I think the silver tabs would be hidden if there was a bashguard installed. My ring installs behind my Saint crank, so I'm guessing it's the same with these ones.
  • 6 0
You have to mount it behind the tabs, in the "middle" chainring position to get the correct chainline mate.
  • 1 1
No, that's where your bash-guard goes...
  • 3 2
Not sure why people are negative propping me - it's a genuine question. On my FSA cranks (same as those ones) the chain ring sits in front of the tabs. I also have an LG1+ so it's virtually the same setup, that's why I'm asking.
  • 5 0
Mate if you've got them set up on the front you're running a horribly out of whack chain-line. Trust me, I know my mechanics.
  • 2 1
Adman, just as Shred states, your chain line must be terrible or there is an odd reason for running your chain ring on the outside of your tabs. For best chain line, you want to run on the inside of the tabs.
  • 1 0
That's quite awkward - maybe I should check my bike before I post about it next time! Turns out it is set up the same as the lapierre above. Cheers anyway, must have been thinking about how the super charger sits.
  • 1 0
That bike is amazing... Oh wait, this article's about a chainring?
  • 1 0
Looks nice. Would be considering to get that with my new Hardtail...
  • 2 0
 That lapierre is sexy!
  • 1 0
It looks nice! black one should stay very good on mine!
  • 1 0
 The bike is freakin` beautiful
  • 1 0
I love how they are designed to hold as much mud and crap as possible!
  • 1 0
sick sproket, love the black, does it come in green too?
  • 1 2
the dot matrix graphic doesn't justify the beautiful machining on both sides....
  • 2 3
Damm means that the Race Face 36t chainring is 4g lighter than the 36T E-Thirteen chainring!,i want one
  • 2 0
yupp, these 4 grams ar not the true reason why you want one.... i think you just like the colours Wink
  • 2 0
 A WHOLE FOUR GRAMS?!?!
That's like, several grains of rice, oh my gosh that'll make me faster!
So yeah, I'm guessing people'll choose them for the price...
  • 1 0
 How much?!
  • 1 0
Article says to be announced later.
