Steve Peat needs no introduction as he has won more World Cup DH races than any other racer and is the current World Champion. He has won at Mont Saint Anne FOUR times (1999, 2002, 2003 & 2004) and is looking to add to that again this year.
Great interview, Steves Rockin the colours good luck for the win.Brett is a legend and has always bean on the scene and a total character got to love him, watching him Freeride on old vids taught me how to ride LEGEND..
Tippie is the man. He was sending it on rickety 6 inch travel freeride bikes when most bashers were getting their diapers changed. Like it or not Brett was one of the original "freeriders". It took people like him, Schlayer and Simmonds to push our sport to what it is today. If it weren't for these guys mountain biking would still be about 3 inch travel Hardtail XC bikes and spandex. He has a great personality and is super approachable, unlike many of the other freeride pros I have met.
I agree. I met him in whistler and he was a laugh and super nice. Made me go back and dust off the kranked trilogy set. Burly shit he was pulling off back in the day.
Peaty loox like the Welsh actor Rhys Ifans.I'd be over the moon if he got back to back Worlds titles,if that were to happen he'd only need one more to "3 peat",lame i know but i couldn't resist.Seriousley though best of luck to Peaty on Sunday, the win is a massive possibility at Mont St Anne,it's arguably his favourite track, and i reckon he'll deffo podium,i just hope it's on the top step.Good luck Peaty. Gringo.
haha I think he's nervous/excited interviewing Peaty. I would be too. Fair Enough Fair Enough, every time he says it, drink a shot! Could be a good new game. Some good stories and info there.
well if you watch his other interviews, he says fair enough just as much ^^ It's kinda annoying. Other than that, he's awesome! Oh and Peaty, good luck on sunday
Peaty's always a possibility it's a shame he's had a bad performance this year, I think he's getting close to retiring, I mean he is in his late 30s, but the guys a legend
If you ever get to meet him and hang out, you will totally love the guy. So much positive energy and a total love for our sport. Both Tippie and Peaty are legends!
I have to say that I'd much rather watch Tippie interview a rider than anyone else that currently does it, so much character. Loving the interview onslaught!
they've known each other for years. Tippie is an excitable guy, but I would prefer that over the arrogant asses that seem to permeate this industry. He's friendly, knowlegeable, genuinely nice and his stoke factor is what made him take it to the limits freeriding, WC snowboarding & launching into the unknown back in the day. Not everyone has access to these guys like Brett does. I can take a bit of hyperness (and what's wrong with that anyway?) in exchange for him sitting down and getting us all interviews to watch. MTB is not a beige sport and there's all sorts of characters in it. thanks Pinkbike - I love watching these interviews. Cheers
busted. He's my hubby and I'm very proud of him. I want to thank everyone who has been encouraging. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I have to voice mine too!
we need more characters in our sport, tippies a class act. his been through some dark times and the sports a lot better for having him around at events like this.
I totally agree loamer. Pinkbike is a business and anything that does not implicitly support the industry should be immediately deleted before it encourages dissent and critical thinking. Without that it will be far to difficult to sell the next headtube size change (probably a reverse taper, 1.5" at the top, 1.125" at the bottom... the engineers are just trying to figure out how to get the prototype in the frame).
Absolutely. Make everything so the guys paying the bills are happy. We don't want to ruffle any feathers. And who cares about all the little guys (consumers), they'll buy/be happy with whatever we tell them to... I mean have you seen all those tight jeans and silly hats they are wearing this year.
Way to go Pinkbike for removing all the comments that they don't enjoy Tippie's interviewing technique. It almost gave the impression that not every one of your viewers loved listening to him. This would have been really terrible to let such open discussion take place. The internet deserves more moderation like this. The Chinese government would be proud.
Gringo.
It's kinda annoying. Other than that, he's awesome!
Oh and Peaty, good luck on sunday
Great interview..... quality!
Peaty is a legend! (hope he gets a podium Tomorrow)
