This video was filmed in about 3 hours, on a cloudy Sunday, Sam is a super Consistent Rider, and extremely talented for 16. Park: Sunshine Skatepark Song: Punching in a Dream Artist: The naked and famous.
After our trip with the Big Air Bag for our free one day camps at Sea Otter, we headed over to The Post Office Jam to support our coaches, Andrew Taylor, Greg Watts, Brendan Howey and Eric Lawrenuk as well as to check out all the riding getting thrown down. Once again, my favorite part of the Sea Otter trip was Post Office. Thanks to our new camp videographer Nic Genovese for making the video.
Steven Murray should get the award for the most inspirational video ever. I remember how gutted I was when I heard about his crash- as I was with Mikey Aitken when he almost suffered a similar fate a few years ago. Hats off to these athletes who know the potential risks yet refuse to allow them to stand in the way. Committment.
I can't imagine how I would feel if I was unable to ride a bike, let alone all other things like walking and everyday stuff.
Hope the rehab works and you get better man. Respect.
Stephen, I'm not sure I could "dig deep" as you if I were in the same position - even for my kids. I've often wondered about it. You are truly amazing in your resolution to deal with it and accept it. I'm not sure God has a plan for everyone - too much suffering in this short lived world of ours. I do hope that science can come up with the answer to making you walk again. That's just a matter of time - a time, I hope you'll be around to experience again. All the best.
It's not that I don't believe in science or recognize all the good it has brought, but I feel like there are some thinks that it simply can't fix. I'm a type 1 diabetic and I've pretty much accepted that I'll live with it for the rest of my life. Scientists were saying they were ten years from a cure fifty years ago and they're still nowhere close. I didn't break my back and I can still ride, but it's a hell of a lot harder than for "normal" people. Accepting whatever you have and looking for what still makes you happy is what it's all about. Stephen is a perfect example of this and he is such an inspiration to never give up and always keep a positive outlook on life. Thanks for such a great video.
If he walks again, it won't even be from the science. His bombproof will is what will make him walk again. It's so moving that in our lives based so much around materials, all he wants is to be a good father. You are one of the greatest guys I've seen and I'm sure you'll always be a great dad no matter where your life takes you!
Like everyone else has said, Stephen Murray you are a true warrior. That you for the words. I broke my neck and herniated 2 discs in my neck last summer. My DH career is pretty much over. Just thankful I can still ride a bike. Stay strong Stephen.
The second video. Home town Trails woot! and the fourth video...looks like some sweet tracks. Is some of that in Bend? anybody know? It looked like the Lair at the end?
WOW to the first video I probly would have just given up on life but fairplay that he hasnt.Makes me wonder why we waste 18+ years of our lives in school when we could die in less than a second
Pro Ride Guides at Stainburn!!! I almost didn't watch this one because I am sick and tired of moto suited riders on full blown Dh bikes riding buff cross country trails, with little very smooth jumps, sliding their tires in the berms. Anyway, this is some real deal shreding! This video and the riders are ace! Encore!
Stephen murray.......respect.......i have kids and watching that frightens me as it could one day happen to me, it could happen to anyone. It makes me question my riding and how far i can go. It questions my limits. But if i had limits i wouldnt know how good a rider i could be!
Pass the Bucket makes you think don't it? To be honest it makes me want to slow down a bit reduce the chanceses I've taken on my rig because like Steph I have a little one to, I want to be able ride and run and stand to see my son graduate from SC without any help. Steph your a lightning rod of inspiration and hope brother we have you in our hearts here in Los Angeles CA, US of A.
Stephen Murray...props! you are an inspiration to us all.. don't forget that all the biking community is with you all the way. continue to be strong for your family bro.. we promise.. we'll dig deep! Godbless ♂
stephen murray you really inspire me just to get out and ride and to fight for what ive got and to just really respect for what i have after listening to someone like you
