A dry and dusty day at the Crankworx Les 2 Alpes office. The great thing about this comp is that anyone good enough can enter and train the table with the pros.
Bernardo Cruz began strongly in the comp, but could he hold out against a stacked field?
The setting sun was making it tricky for riders taking off but that didn't stop them throwing down massive whips.
Bas van Steenbergen making it look so easy.
Eddie Masters showing us that riding in Crocs is cool, although walking around with them isn't.
Battle wounds. These riders were pushing the limits.
Being the first event and blessed with fine weather, spectators turned out in their masses. Meanwhile, some of the riders would throw in some alternative tricks.
All the way from Australia... Now this is a whip.
Brendan on his new Scott Gambler was looking right at home
He even threw in some of his signature naks.
Videographers were pretty pleased with their shots. The hill was scattered with all sorts of cameras.
Unfortunately, this whip didn't end well.
Medical team on site, the rider was attended to and taken to hospital for checks. We wish him a speedy recovery.
After the course was cleared, the riders continued with the competition. There were several characters on the hill today, including this guy who took quite a tumble.
But he bounced back up. We're sure this look will come back into fashion. Or not.
Expensive cameras on long poles. These guys have come prepared! Above them, Bernard Cruz secures third place.
Bernard Kerr coming in hot and eventually securing second place.
Neil Stewart, the soft-spoken World Cup downhill racer on his final run which proved to be the winning whip.
This isn't the first time Neil has won a whip off contest and we doubt it will be the last.
#WhoIsNeilStewart? What we do know is that he has an incredible future ahead of him.
Full video recap coming soon!

Great contest! I wish there was more contest or events like this. Last thing I would have to say. From the video I didn't think Niel's whip was the best compared to some other I saw, but it could possibly have looked better in person.
Superb skills and bottle.
