FYI, Palmer was never a tweaker and wiggle worm on a bike. He was the most fluid rider second to Nico.
No waste of movement and all momentum. People try to think he was a foot out drifting dirtbag, but I've seen his riding in person lots. What made him one of the best was that he flowed over everything and maintained speed everywhere.
You just had to see him in person to see how effortless he looked, but GOD he could work a bike!
Mt. Snow 2001. Rock outcropping in the middle of narrow, rocky wooded section, he threw huge style off a tiny rock all the other riders were going around.
Vanderham in freeride is similar.

Simple question... why would you expect that? He hasn't been focused on ripping his bike all these years and I bet he could care less about the current fashion/style trends. Also he wasn't skidding, that's called drifting and railing dry loose corners... seriously, wtf is happening with mtbing? Who cares what knee pads he's wearing. I wan't to see more of him ripping.

This is the type of MTBers that I f*ckin HATE people who judge other MTBers when they don't have a $400 helmet and a $6000 bike.......I f*cking mob trails on my dirt jumper that other f*ggot kids hit on their $5000 downhill bikes. I might not be as fast as a downhiller through certain sections but MTBing should be more about fun with homies and less competing who has better parts....

^ Haha good point. I still have the same knee pads from 5 years ago? Anyways, if you knew a bit about really good handling, you'd know that he was hammering those corners and maintaining ridiculous speed in those conditions. He's still got it and that's insane. Hopefully another will come out with him riding a steeper and/or techier trail because that would be really fun to watch.

Friggen edit button isn't working but meant to throw in that I didn't mean to imply that I'm fast or cool, just that many riders cannot afford or see the point in upgrading gear every year... or they see no point in it. If it works, don't fix it.

Went to Snow Summit a few months back with a brand new bike... As soon as I exit the truck and head for the hill I hear this group of kids parked next to me say, "Look at this Joey." I smirked and continued for the ticket booth. Got my pass and made it a purpose to wait for this group of youngsters at the lift. Not impressed guys... To all cool kids: make sure YOU can ride before judging others.
