Jan 20, 2015
by Fest Series
Are you ready for another year of unfathomably large jumps and mind boggling tricks? FEST is back, with one new stop confirmed in the mix.

HoffFEST Retallack 2014

CruzFEST
April 20 - April 27
This is a new stop on the tour that will be held in Santa Cruz to be organized by Kyle J, R-Dog and Jeff Herb.

Aggy's Reunion
Canadian May Long Weekend, May 17-18
Aggy and Brad Stewart built the series first stop in 2014, this year the crew will head back to the Loops for more FEST action.

Lacondeguy Invitational - LaconFEST
May - June 6
The Lacondeguy Invitational takes place from may 30th to June 6th at La Molina bikepark, two hours from Barcelona. We will be riding different spots around the city, like Bikepark La Poma and more.

Hillbilly HuckFEST
July 23 to July 26
Makken put on a crazy event in the Norwegian hills in 2014, and 2015 is set to be no different.

LooseFEST
July 28th to August 3rd
Nico Vink's LooseFEST showcased not only the biggest jumps of the 2014 FEST series, but some of the biggest jumps ever cleared on mountain bikes.

HoffFEST
End of August TBD
The FEST will hang out in Sorge's back yard at Retallack again and we hope the rain behaves itself for 2015.

What does this have to do with the fmb? It is simply them announcing their dates.
  • 12 2
The FMB schedule still isn't out..
  • 17 7
"What does this have to do with the fmb?" - FEST series made FMB and their point system irrelevant....they killed the FMB!
  • 12 5
fest series does sessions on big freeride jumps, fmb does slopestyle contests. nobody killed anybody
  • 8 2
Hardly killed anything. I'd imagine that crankworx alone has a greater audience than all of the fest series events combined. There isn't a single mention of the fmb in the article. It's a completely different group of events, and some might say a different discipline of the sport completely.
  • 3 0
don't get me wrong, I love watching the fest series stuff. I'm just saying it's a completely different type of riding.
  • 11 0
i like fest and FMB... i dont see a reason to hate on one or the other, theyre completely different in their own rights
  • 2 1
 yeahh
  • 51 0
Slopestyle is sick and we respect all the riders doing it, they are all friends and they thrown down insane moves. We just dont think that FMB should stand for Freeride Mountain Biking since they mostly organize dirt jump and slopestyle contests. Maybe they should change the name to SMB, Slopestyle Mountain Biking and we ll take care of FREERIDE.
  • 9 0
 Vinny T for president.
  • 5 0
Was just going to post this exact term SMB, couldn't agree more
  • 2 2
I don't think FREERIDE really needs to be defined....It's called Freeride...so do what you want. Unless I'm missing something.
  • 14 1
Cool, now sell some fest series shirts to us posers so we can look cool/advertise, n yal can get paid!

Can spectators go to these. Be a pretty fantastic weekend in the loops. Haven't been back since college and this is a perfect excuse.
  • 2 0
Im pretty sure you can, and I definatly would if I were you
  • 3 0
Yes spectators can go. No admission just show up at the venue. Last year it was at the Kamloops Bike Ranch.

Laconfest!!! thats going to be awesome, I'll have to try and make that if I can(that should be read as if I'm allowed :lolSmile

dude if you haven't landed any 20m jumps or more, dont try to go to lacondeguy and hit them.

1- probably u wont have enough balls to hit it.

2- if you never hit a jump with this dimensios, of course there isn't anyone in spain,(8m like much) so you haven't landed one. you probably gonna stay on a wheelchair.

don't get me wrong, but that's the true reality. i know people that are f*cking crazy, and land a big jumps, and probably they know that they won't have enough balls to hit them.

AMPING!!!
  • 3 1
i can't imagine how can they make this big jumps
  • 2 0
Mmmm.. Close your eyes. Feel the wind on your face. Try to believe there is a table right behind the take off. Taste the speed and in the air try to control the bike around your body, so you can land on it, where your body falls. Your body is the main mass that's flying. That's the theory. Practice usually stops in face of fear. I try to take lower flights and than increase the height gradually. Whenever I hesitate I sit on the take off and say to myself: It's not that damn high. There is another way of following somebody just in front of you and doing the same thing. This one usually pulls you through most of features you would not face on your own. This is the end of my experience. I think the extreme jumps are taken after a lot of practice, a lot of falls and after using a really big sponge pool.
