Trek's New Powerfly eMTB Doesn't Look Like A Session - Across the Pond Beaver
I hate to say it, but mtb bros on Pinkbike aren't willing to see that this bike is tapping into the giant, weird e-bike market of people looking for an ugly swiss army knife of a bike (ultimately not very great all around, like a swiss army knife). Doesn't surprise me at all that Trek is trying to cash in, but it is funny to me that brands that market themselves as hardcore (new Slash release video) are clawing for that precious marketshare competing with shitty full suspension, folding-frame e-bikes.

Video: Kate Courtney Discusses her Olympic Dreams Being on Hold

(auto racing, moto, etc)

While I would like to believe this, coming from a family of means that allows you to not need a source of income outside of cycling gives a monumental advantage over someone else whose well-being has no safety net. Having competed in a lot of cross-country back in the day, it was very evident that your resources are a massive factor in your odds of being successful.
