We had a few extra hours to spare in Laguna beach, so we busted out the cameras, microphones and duct tape. Turned into a different type of edit we have never done, especially for an afternoon.
with comfy grips and a relaxed position on the bike that doesn't stay rigid for too long (flowy and supple) ridding without gloves feels much more natural and more responsive not for all day rides though
I use gloves just to absorb the sweat other wise one hard landing or a G out spot on the trail and Bam there is one of those things that Sweet-Bike is calling a accident!
anyone else watch this video to see the footage of him leaning the berm like in the avatar of this story on the home page.
and end up disappointed that it wasnt there..
I was as well gloryrida. Hell, I just want to see a higher res version of that photo. It looks awesome.
It would be super awesome if they'd add a little blurb at the end of an article that links to the photo they use. In many cases a submission will have an astounding looking photo on the front page, then it's nowhere to be found in the article.
Oh, and this edit was seriously amazing. Man... California has some really unique riding and terrain.
I get way more grip with gloves. In addition they keep the index brake finger from falling off when your riding in the cold. Any wetness on bear hands from sweat or water causes slipping. And for me the bike feels way more responsive with the extra glove grip. The no glove preference has me baffled too.
I used to ride with gloves, and then about just over a year ago I stopped and ever since then I've rode without gloves and feel more comfortable without them It's just personal preferences
that was so sick how he ordered that food and then ate it. haha looking fast as always, and can I get a what what for the prime time for California riding and digging season just starting! Dusty grey hillsides will be replaced with happy green trees and wildflowers, shovels come out and berms get touched up and new jumps come to life, and the dirt is sticky and oh so tasty.
you could ride them with an xc hardtail but at about 1/30th that speed and it would be a matter of survival more than going fast and having fun. the video doesn't show how steep some of this stuff is.
There was some impressive high speed technical riding in there in addition to just the flat... flat out sections. This wasn't just riding fast, he was riding blisteringly fast.
Don't be so bitter. Go make an edit on par with this and we'll give you the same appreciation. Because I'd love to watch another video that makes riding look so fun and gets me really excited to go ride. And I know I couldn't keep up with him.
You're very welcome. I would kill to be out there riding this stuff that fast. The riding and whole vibe of it, hanging out with friends and riding with them, it was all perfect. Made me miss the summer rides with friends.
