AT's Showdown is back for the forth year at the SF Bike Expo in San Francisco, California. We're bringing back the head to head style unique competition like we did last year, but to change it up this year we’re adding a couple of different features to the course. We are expecting heavy hitters Greg Watts, Martin Soderstrom, Andreu Lacondeguy, McCaul brothers, Ryan Howard, Casey Groves, Linus Sjholm and many more to return to dual side by side.

What the riders have to say

AT Showdown 2011
What do you think of the contest and why?
The contest is always a good time. Super fun course and a cool head to head format that makes it interesting. Being at the end of the year and not a part of the world tour makes it a fun, low stress vibe too. Course design and scheduling from fellow pro riders also makes it appealing for the riders and when the riders are having fun, it makes for the best show!

What is the atmosphere like?
Atmosphere is fun! Riding head to head is pretty unique and the crowd is enthusiastic to see side by side action!

Is the contest like other contest?
With the courses side by side and the low stress vibe, I would choose this unique format over any other.

AT Showdown 2011

What do you think of the contest and why?
It´s a super fun and relaxed contest and the perfect way to end the season with your friends. I am very over traveling right now, but will travel over the pond anyway. I guess that shows that it´s a pretty damn good contest!

What is the atmosphere like?
The atmosphere is definitely more towards having a good time then to win it. And that´s a great way to end a very competitive season.

Is the contest like other contest?
The comp and weekend have their own tweaks, always fun with something abit different.

"Martin Soderstrom"

AT Showdown 2011

What do you think of the contest and why?
The A.T. Showdown is an awesome time. Jumps are big and it's close to home.

Is the contest like other contest?
The contest is super unique because it's not very common you're dropping in next to your buddy trying to stomp a better run.

"Ryan Howard aka R-Dog"

AT Showdown 2011

What do you think of the contest and why?
AT's is the funnest contest of the year. The showdown style is really unique. And gives the contest a new feel, and why pass up a chance to go to Cali?

What is the atmosphere like?
Riding at AT's dosen't feel like a contest, the vibe is chill and relaxed. Just feels like you are riding with friends.

Is the contest like other contest?
The contest is nothing like other contests, it is an extremely fun contest to ride, it's just fun and no stress. Plus the showdown format is something on its own, keeps everyone on the tips of their toes.

What do you think of the contest and why?
I think that the head to head format is awesome. It's unique for a dirt jump contest and it reminds me of racing dual slalom back in the day...

What is the atmosphere like?
Atmosphere is mellow. It feels like a jam.

Is the contest like other contest?
Nope, AT's Showdown is a refreshing detox from the hectic contest schedule that we go through over the summer.

"Tyler McCaul"

AT Showdown 2011

What do I think of the contest and why?
I think it is a great contest and it is all about fun. The head to head format when you are riding against someone is great and that is what makes this contest so special. For some reason you don't have the same pressure here as the usual contests.

What the atmosphere like?
The atmosphere is a little bit different here, it is more like a big gathering of riders and just have a good time. Of course I am motivated on the contest like always.

Is the contest like other contest?
No it's not. It's completely different due to the head to head format and that it's not a part of the FMB tour. It's fun doing contests besides the tour as well!!

"Linus Sjoholm"

AT Showdown 2011

What do you think of the contest and why?
I look forward to AT’s Showdown all year. It’s awesome how close it is and it’s at a good time of year when everything has relaxed a bit. The course is always fun, with some nice big jumps, making for good times all round. It’s great how it brings everyone to Santa Cruz before and after as well, so we can shred local stuff with buddies that we don’t usually get to ride with.

What is the atmosphere like?
There’s a really good atmosphere through the whole event. While it is a contest, everyone’s always just stoked to ride with one another and it just feels like a big jump jam. People are doing trains all day and just having a good time on the bike!

Is this contest like other contests?
No it’s pretty unique. The main reason is probably the format, with the side by side elimination rounds. It makes it pretty interesting as consistency becomes a bit more important.

bigquotesThe showdown is amazing. I always laugh because I've never had more fun riding in a parking lot. You forget your in the middle of a city while your catching air miles on the massive kickers. Every year you can expect big jumps, big tricks, and some sort of new exciting feature. I can't wait to see what AT has scheming for this years showdown. - Jamie Goldman

Unfortunately Zink won't be attending this year, but this is what he had to say. Get well soon Zink.

bigquotesThe atmosphere at AT's showdown is genuine. People are there to ride and have a good time. These people just so happen to be some of the best riders on the planet. When you give these guys a good course they forget about everything else, have a good time and throw down. Under an atmosphere like this is when you see progression and smiles all day. - Cameron Zink

bigquotesI always look forward to the time of the the year when we get to race tractors around building massive jumps for a laid back weekend of riding. It looks like a solid crew of riders will be back this year and along with adding an amateur comp to the mix it should be the best year yet. - Andrew Taylor aka -AT
