He speaks pretty confidently for such a young guy. He's going to do well on account of that too. Could use a few more adjectives in his arsenal, but he'll figure that out soon I'm sure. Looking forward to seeing him win Crankworx; hopefully 2012 will be the one.
I didn't realize we were all more concerned with how riders speak these days, guess I better stop watching the riding and bringing my bike to events, sounds like the crowds will enjoy my pocket dictionary and thesaurus more...Grow up, he and all pros shred harder than you and the rest of the nobody's criticizing his vocabulary, which I would like to add, reflects the true vernacular of our segment of the cycling culture anyways.
Stoked to be pumped! How we should all be!
we might be knocking him for using simple vocabulary because we obviously cant talk shit about his riding... just a thought. i mean hes how old? and riding how much gnarlier than most people...?
Lower stiffness to weight ratio. Other adjustable CS designs are simpler and it doesn't make the CS shorter because that's actually limited by the ST to axle length.
the reasoning for the frame and the teloscopic dropouts was to have a frame that feels like steel, but with the weight benefits of aluminum. just so you know the frame is under 5lb, lighter than most aluminum frames with normal dropouts.. also the dropouts offer way more adjustability than regular ones
like i said. the frame was designed to flex vertically to have some give on big hits and feel better, but no lateral flex so it stays stiff when cornering, and the looks tend to grow on you. comes in other colours too
I've tried ridden Anthonys previous bike a few times (nothing crazy mind you) ,the dropouts did feel pretty damn stiff and Im 6'4 210lbs. But I'm still not a fan of having a dropout pretty much held on by a couple of bolts.
@Willy if it has no flex it's extra heavy and some top of the line steel frames are pretty light (under 5 lb too). Also it's different kind of flex when the whole frame does it. Also land hard sideways and I'm sure the bolts won't be too happy about it.
I understand that a good bike can be made with that design, it's just not the best choice imo and in the end you end up with a more expensive bike (production cost wise) which offers a bit less. Makes no sense to me.
"SHUT UP AND GO DO THINGS I'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO DO ON MY BIKE!"
But for realizes, I have serious respect for Mr. Messere. 16 years old and public speaking rarely go together well. Extremely exciting to see so much raw talent at such a young age. He will definitely be taking mountain biking to new levels.
I was approached by a Morpheus mechanic at the speed and style course, and he asked if I wanted to ride his vimana, and I took a few laps on it and was blown away!! It's super stiff and snappy, made my p3 feel like a tank
first off, good luck to you this year and i hope you do very well. Secondly i think everyone should think about how they sounded like at 16 and compare your skills to this guy before you make comments about his vocab..for the stress that has been put on him to succeed he is doing very well
YES, he could've been more diverse in his speech,
but keep in mind he's probably really nervous and still overwhelmed, he's still to new to the whole fame thing that fell on him overnight... give him time to mellow and adjust to it...
worst interview ever, has zero knowledge of his own bike aside from its "SICK". the least you could do for all your sponsors is give a radical review in attempt to help pursue the public into making such a purchase. saying something is solid or sick doesn't tell me anything. that being said hes a solid rider. he traded of his brains for balls i guess.
side note those frames are overrated, the rear drop out systems is a joke and is impractical, it looks like crap and appears to have a weaker construction then your tradition rear triangle that simply extends the seat-stays and chain-stays to the drop out offering maximum stiffness and strength. hate on me if you want, theirs a reason no one has persuaded this companies design methods. and the traditional rear triangle holds strong. just my 2 cents.
everybody's complaining about how he speaks, thats so uncool! first there was his ''ya know'' - video and now this ''super-sick'' - shit, but how cares? he's the gnarliest ever, so stfu, hatersss
And before you tell me how awesome your vocabulary and skilzzz were on the debate team at 16, consider that he's trying to fit an image and come across as cool. Even though he may be thinking "the blue of the frame touches my heart like the cool ocean waves on a stormy autumn dawn" he's going to more inclined to say sick, dope, rowdy, steezey, bomber, or whatever the kool katz are waxing lyrical these days. Kinda shocked at the staying power of sick I gotta say. That shit's multi generational yo. One more gen and it'll be up there with cool.
cwutididthere?

Also, diversify your vocabulary. You make all of us look like total slack jawed cave men.
