In search of our second authentic Taiwanese experience we went to Snake Alley. The plan was for Karl to drink a shot of whiskey mixed with snake blood. We were offered snake soup, snake meat and several other traditional Taiwanese dishes.

  It took a while to get through Taipei traffic on Wednesday morning. It could have been because they had this guy directing traffic.

  Birds eye view of the Nangang Exhibition Hall. The first and fourth floors are jammed pack full of all things bike related.

  Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou arrived for the opening of the show with his entourage hot on his heels.

  OGNS had two hippos helping promote their booth, Captain Taiwan was running around promoting his company's product and a sexy booth girl was walking around with her pet monkey. Who's booth do you think saw the most traffic?

  SR Suntour has been making a major push over the past couple of years. First look at their new downhill fork. Stay tuned to Pinkbike for a full release on this new fork shortly.

  It might be a bit early to hand out the booth of the show award, but with an island style hut complete with coffee bar, Kind Shock has to be the day one front runner.

  Ollie Thomas has made some major changes to Kore since joining the company last year.

  In 1982 E.T. rode a Kuwahara off into the sunset. It's 30 years later and the Japanese company is still making some amazing looking bikes.

  Druggist is technically not incorrect, but it is not something we would see in Canada. I can only guess what Brappers and Skin Food specialize in.

  Pedal the extra winter weight away while playing videos games. It's a great idea and this booth combines three things that most Pinkbike users are fond of, booth girls, bikes and video games.

 i'd be more interested in seeing a xfusion dual crown fork. all the suntour suspension i work with at my bike shop is crap and constantly having issues... granted its usually their lower end forks and shocks we have on the bikes we sell.

 SR gearbox has been around for a couple of years ... it is basically the same gearbox everyone else is using ...

 Why the QR on the new Suntour DC fork? Seems like it would just add unnecessary weight/complexity to something that is just intended for freeriding/racing. Just a small complaint though, looks sick otherwise.

 You mean the QLOC? I have a Durolux and it works like a charm. The Maxle works, right? The QLOC works just as well, with the exception that it is easier to remove and install than the Maxle. I have tried a friend's Domain and I love the ease of use of the Maxle but now QLOC is better I think.

But you're right. This QR system is different. Maybe QLOC 2.0?

 Suntour actually makes internals for a few major fork companies, Marzocchi is one of them. For me it would be a try before I buy thing though.

 Because it blows to loosen 4 allen screws and then fight with a axle bolts when you could just use a QR. And QR is heavier? Really? No one can feel a 30g difference, sorry. If 30g concerns you that much, don't use brake fluid on your next ride. It'll make you '30 grams' faster Wink I love QR and are glad they're using it.

 The system RS uses on boxxers works perfectly fine, I don't see why they didn't just use something like that (other than patents obviously, but they probably could have come up with something similar). There's a reason no other DC fork on the market uses a QR.

 The best system is the Maxle lite that RS uses on the Totem, Lyric and the smaller travel forks.. I never have any issues with it and would have loved it on my Boxxer I had

 Seriously? This is an industry trade show, not a consumer show. This is where NEW stuff gets revealed, not sold to the public. Apples to oranges, and pretty exciting if you ask me.

 it's probably an "open-mold" frame from a TW manufacturer that they picked up and badged just to showcase their suspension

 I Doubt it. Why "showcase" a new product attached to a product that stands out just as much? Seems silly. Plus, the fact that its not been confirmed or denied is suspicious. Time will tell I guess
