Following in the footsteps of forerunners like Kris Holm and Dan Heaton, Mike Parenteau from Nelson, B.C. is forging new ground in the small, yet always impressive sport of Mountain Unicycling. Incorporating Nelson’s well known style for steep, fast freeriding, Mike is pushing the limits of what was previously thought possible on a unicycle. Watch for him in the coming years as Mike looks to incorporate freeride style tricks and more and more speed into his downhill unicycle riding.

In October, 2008, Canada’s top World Cup hopeful, Steve Smith (Evil/Red Bull), began training with professional motocross trainer Todd Schumlick of PerformX thanks to one of his primary sponsors, Red Bull. While not necessarily a familiar face in the mountain bike racing world, Todd has an impressive history of proven success as a trainer and coach in motocross and other disciplines at the highest level.

Mitch Chubey is a Canadian rider who first caught my attention a few years ago in Whistler at the Air Apprentice Contest. I have been hearing Mitch's name a lot more since then and I have a feeling I will keep hearing that name for years to come.
