Crankbrothers Steve Peat Signature Pedals

Steve Peat and Crankbrothers have enjoyed a long history together, dating back to the original Mallet pedals in 2003. Now, Peaty and Crankbrothers have teamed up to offer a limited edition Steve Peat Signature Mallet DH. The signature pedals not only pay homage to Peaty's legacy in the sport, but also pay it forward by contributing to the next generation of riders. The signature pedals, individually numbered and limited to one thousand pairs, will be released at Fort William with Peaty himself on-hand to sign autographs and share stories with fans. Following the event, the remaining pedals will be available exclusively through dealers in the United Kingdom.

A portion of proceeds will go to establish the Steve Peat Syndicate Scholarship Fund under the Crankbrothers For Others program. The scholarship fund will enable the SPS to offer support, training, and equipment to exceptional young riders who do not have the financial resources to buy into the program.

“It is great to have such support from Crankbrothers for my SPS riders. We try to give them the best advice and training, so it’s only right to give them the best equipment. These pedals are a great way to help support the program,” said Steve Peat.

“Peaty is an absolute legend, and what better way to celebrate his contributions to the sport than by commemorating the pedals that have been under his feet at every World Cup for over a decade,” said Kellen Trachy, Crankbrothers Global Marketing Manager. “The signature pedals are the perfect way to celebrate Peaty in his final season of racing and support his passion for developing the next generation of riders through the Steve Peat Syndicate.”

About the Steve Peat Signature Mallet DH

The Mallet DH dominates the UCI World Cup Downhill circuit and is the pedal of choice for seven of the top ten racers. The Steve Peat Signature edition features a special double-anodized black and red colourway, with Peaty's autograph and limited edition serial number laser-etched on one side, and a Union Jack and pint-raising "cheers!" motif laser-etched on the other. The design reflects both the performance-oriented and fun-loving nature of Peaty himself.

The Steve Peat Signature Mallet DH (£134.99) will be released at the Fort William World Cup 3rd-5th June 2016 and available exclusively through dealers in the UK.

Do I return these directly to Peaty when they break or do I follow the usual process ?

Usual process - You mean buying rebuild kits in 6 packs?

@WAKIdesigns: least it'll give you something else to do to ease your boredom..

CB should make possible that everyone can order pedals with his name on like the pros have ! Tons of people would jump on that

Apple made it with some devices...

I have a d3 steve peat edition, not the same thing but well the same concept, dont see a problem to use that

Top riders use them because they get new ones handed out like sweets. If they had to buy them, return them, fix them and then bin them like normal riders, they wouldn't bother. Seems like Crank Bros are trying really hard on the marketing front - why don't they just make products that work properly. Let your product do the marketing.

Not sure why CB gets such a bad name? I've been using Mallets for 2 years and the only time they failed on me was when I slammed into a tree at full speed and bent the axle. I ride 2-3 times a week too- including winter, maybe I'm just really lucky?

@benwearsahat: Nope, I'm with you, I've got CB pedals on 5 bikes, some pedals are 5+ years old and never had a problem.

@s100mphplus: I've had Acids, Mallet 2s and currently running Mallet DH and Mallet E and never had a problem. People just like to jump on the hype train that they once made an unreliable set and therefore everything they make must be unreliable.

@benwearsahat: ouhhhh i wouldnt say that so loud, to state your point in the interwebs securly, you'd have to say " i ride eveery day after work, my work is really shitty so thats why i ride extra agresive, tghose pedals never failed me, and probably never will"

given that youre more exposed to be called a liar due to the quanitty of people "down voting" this brand... my thoughts on this ? dunno, stuff wears out if its being ridden really often and really hard... i spend 60 bugs on my bike a mounth because i just ride so much, and the local trails got too boring that i am just riding more and more progressive after a given time, riding with friends on the ohter hand, well there is nothing more exiting than that ! Big Grin

ride with friends, have a blast Big Grin ride on !!

Yep my mallets are 4 years old, Gave them a clean and a grease just once and are still going strong. I was always a shimano DX man but I have been really impressed with these. My candy's i had on my hard tail lasted 2 rides so can see where they get a bad rep from
