To be able to compete in the team overall I think a team should be required to have a womens rider on the roster, it would be a great way to get some of these fast ladies the factory ride they deserve
Yeah, but then again SC does seem to provide Nina with a good bit of support. I wouldn't be surprised if they'll give her full support next year. The whole issue with them (and Giant) is that they've chosen to market their female line up of bikes under a different brand name. Santa Cruz did have the Luna Chicks back in the days (and Juliana was just the name of the womens version of their Superlight XC fully) but now the name has gone its own way. If they insist on sticking with that, the SC Syndicate will be a men only and at best, they'll start a Juliana Syndicate team.
@dazzhotchkin: Doesn't Veronika Widmann also ride a YT Tues? She has always been doing well but this season she really shines. Not sure if she's currently getting any support from YT. It doesn't appear like she does, considering the frame paint job.
@maroski: Thanks. Just looked the brand up. They call her Veronica Wiedmann (this is their sponsored athlete, national champion etc mind you) and even though it quite closely resembles a YT Tues, Harry Molloy has apparently said that they've had a lot of influence on the bike design. A (big) part of me thinks this is a bit like the Athertons riding Muddy Fox bikes.
Soo are the frenchies still friends or is it competition time at Snowshoe. I'll be there not caring, hopefully Neko or Luca get a big result seeing were all 5 hour drive from there.
Troy Brosnan might as well hang it all out at Snowshoe, Hart would have to have a big day to move ahead of him and if Pierron or Bruni have big issues he could still get 2nd or win the overall. Either way ill be there to see what happens!
Amaury has to beat the 90 pt spread that Loic has on him. So Amaury has to beat Bruni, regardless of position, as long as Loic is sitting in a position (further down) that will not give Amaury the 90 pts more than him in the end.
I ran into Seth Sherlock this morning on Whistler, where he was riding with a group of friends. I was like, "Are you Seth Sherlock?" (He had his name on his jersey) "Didn't you just win Lenzerheide? Let me extend my greatest congratulations etc". He was very gracious about it.
