Fezzari 801 dirt jump bike

Fezzari had their brand new 801 dirt jump bike at the show, so new in fact that this is the only one in the whole world! The new bike uses steel tubing which should be more resilient to the inevitable crashes and throw aways that are bound to happen. Up front you'll find an internal headset that helps to keep the handlebars as low as possible, as well as using bigger and more reliable bearings.

"Up front you'll find an internal headset that helps to keep the handlebars as low as possible" but they put an inch of spacers on it...
  • 2 1
 hahaha good call man
  • 2 0
you can pull out the spacers can't you?
  • 3 1
 Plus a riser bar Razz
  • 7 1
Just me, or does this look like the exact same frame, only with 24" wheels? >>

Looks O.K....but take a closer look at the rear drop outs...pretty weak looking for a DJ in my opinion!!! I agree with the comment above..."looks like Walmart quality", however on the rear dropouts, I might trust Walmarts more. Oh well, you never know until we hear some sound test results!
  • 3 2
the bend is for strength and lightening when the tube goes straight into the heatube you dont need a gusset. xc cockpit ? dont know who your friend is but i can tell you he hasnt rode my bike. the 23 is effective the actual tt is 22 . the bike is soooo sick i . havent weighed it yet but its 26ish with no lightweight parts will post weight when sea slotter madness is over.anyone thats skeptical come take it for a spin i promise you will be smiling. schredd on
  • 2 2
so true. i got to ride it the other day at the alpine djs and it rips. awesome feeling bike
  • 2 1
Just shredded on that bike at sea otter and for some reason it jam whips like a champ. that back end swing around at you without even trying. love it or hate it that bike shreds I love it. As far as the parts go I was on Micha Hintze team build with full spank/profile and it was in the 27"s and all ano purple and green. Way ill I hope they copy that kids build and use it as a kit because he can build a bike with the right parts.

"an internal headset that helps to keep the handlebars as low as possible" then get a load at the spacers in picture 1 lol
  • 5 0
...and they had to bend that bottom tube so the forks won't hit it - pointless.
What was wrong with external cup headsets ??
  • 3 2
i wasn't referring to the bend in the down tube, more to the internal head set top keep the bars as low as possible and then they go and stick a full length steer tube on it with 3inches of spacers lol plus a riser stem and 2 inch rise bars

Haha are you kidding? The bottom tube? It's a down tube bro. And it's bent so they don't have to use a gusset for strength. That makes it lighter and just as strong dude. As for the integrated headset, why not? It's just more adjustability for those who want to run low stuff. That doesn't mean you can't run them high too
  • 3 0
Bottom or down - whatever. Why do you make a fuss if you understood my point?
Can you explain how that tube kink meant to make the frame stronger?
  • 8 0
that bend in the downtube will do absolutely nothing to increase the strength, actually it will decrease it as its changing the regularity of the tube and creating a stress riser. pointless and ugly, kills the clean lines. i might get neg props for sayin it, but this bike is a bit 5 years ago. long chainstays (by modern DJ standards) and bendy tubes...pfft.
  • 1 0
 that is exactly my point.
  • 4 0
its like every other jump frame but worse. long chainstays, long top top, horid dropouts, horid bend. no thanks
  • 3 0
It's a wannabe bike. Just search Merida UMF Hardy Steel team 2010, it's the EXACTLY same frame!
+ it's ugly. Why bending the tubes when straight tubes looks so much bether?..
  • 1 0
 Drop out is different
  • 1 0
It's just the same bike like Merida has. nothings different even the name. I think the original frame idea belongs to merida, because they're producing their dirt bikes (umf hardy steel) three years ago. It's sad to see such a copy bike, cause it seems like some of the manufacturers or producers hasn't got any original idea Frown
  • 2 1
that wasnt for you marty i know you schredd it . im not talking crap on specialized in any way shape or form they are sick bikes an ive always liked them. i just used them as a example to state a piont .
  • 1 1
I'm just messin with you any way, you see the 2011 P.3? I think you helped encourage this new design, note the new seat stays.

that bike is just an epic fail!!
  • 5 1
errrr...not sure bout it...kinda looks like walmart quality
  • 4 1
It is exactly the same cheap and crappy frame. Don't be fooled. I understood that from the first look on it.
  • 3 0
Of course it's the same. They didn't bother designing their own frame and only having merida make it, they just chose one from merida's catalogue.
  • 2 0
I think that bike is a copy too, look at the "merida version":

velo.hu/UserFiles/d/s/c/dsc_3512_800x600t0_ic.jpg

It's called Umf Duncan 2 and merida produces it years ago. so...
  • 2 0
the reason they're both the same is that they'll just be some asian company's production frame. they just email a mass production company, ask to see their stock items, and say "ill have 2000 of those please" and they'll cost like $100 each. if you think im ignorant, just go to Alibaba.com and search "steel bike frame" or something similar. you'll see many "brands" bikes there.
  • 1 0
i got the point, but its such a shame, and a very sad thing imo
  • 2 0
people, took all your criticism and here is the peoples fezzari 8001 (bit smudge here and there)

 I thought it said Ferrari...lol
  • 3 0
it looks ok, but dont like the frame muchh
  • 1 1
Feels like a cross country bike from what I've heard SUPER big cockpit, nice improvement over the last. Shouldn't make a difference for you Salisbury, you could rip on a trike if you had to Kade!
  • 1 0
a bicicleta é um espectaculo masnao gosto da parte da frente a do guiador e do avanço é feio mas erdeé bonita "verde"
  • 1 0
the bike is a show Masnaa like the front of the handlebar and the progress is pretty ugly but erde "green"
  • 1 0
I like the Alex rims Fr30's. Its pictured with a DJ2 but says DJ3 in the spec?
  • 2 1
everything looks sick, but the frame kinda looks like a lifestyle bike. but it still looks pretty sweet
  • 2 1
Not going to lie... at first glance I though it said Ferrari... Looks pretty dope though.
  • 2 1
Those dropouts. So nasty-looking. Otherwise it looks pretty nice. Interesting spec choice with the Holy Rollers though.
  • 2 0
23.3" tt? Is this an xc frame or is it built for someone who is 6' 6"?
  • 1 0
My buddy who rode it said it felt like an XC cockpit.
  • 1 0
My bank has a 24" tt and Im only 5'11 and I love it. The 24/14 drive train is a lil messed and the fact that they call pivotal their system is bullshit!
  • 1 0
My imperial has a 20-24" virtural tt. I'm 6"1 and its a bit too small. Plus its a FR bike...
  • 1 0
Ya my glory has a 25.4" toptube but it's a dh bike so it's a bit different. For a street hardtail like this, 22" tt would be better if they are only going to have one size.
  • 1 0
my bank is my dj bike, and the tt is close to the one on my demo, and its fine
  • 1 0
to each his own i guess
  • 2 0
 yeah it's exactly the same
  • 2 0
ha ha the truth comes out... welcome to the bike industry!!
  • 1 0
Their Facebook page says the price is $899.
www.facebook.com/fezzari
  • 1 0
 But MSRP is like $2000?
  • 1 0
isnt it a pivitol seat? not a direct mount seat
  • 1 0
It looks pritty sweet, but the frame... is just messed looking
  • 1 0
love the idea of integrated chain tugs.
  • 1 0
Such an incredible bike!!! can't wait to get my hands on one.
  • 1 0
how much does it weight ?????
  • 1 0
Terd - both brown and steaming. Notice the capital.
  • 1 2
I like it the frame tube is kinda weird cuz its bent but I wouldn't mind. I like how it has no things to hold gears or brake cables..... Its kept simple
  • 1 3
Who cares if it's a copy or not. It's a sick ride. It's simple, light, bombproof and you can't make the cockpit smaller without losing some barspin/x-up capability. Good luck finding something similar for less $. Epic pass!
  • 1 0
 it looks light
  • 1 0
 cut steertube
  • 1 1
looks similar but not the same.
  • 1 3
you obviously know nothing about bike mfg if you only knew how many specialized bikes are catolog. haters will hate i will be riding while you are posting on pinkbike
  • 2 0
And of course you know exactly how many of them are, so please enlighten us. Or maybe I'll help you a bit. Specialized frames are made mainly in three Taiwanese factories, i.e. Giant, Ideal and Merida (which is in possession of a significant share of Spec), but they are DESIGNED by the people in Specialized and EXCLUSIVE for this brand only. You won't find even the cheapest hardrock frame on another, especially walmart, bike. Not to mention the high end models. There is a huge difference between that and just ordering a ready frame and then giving people at Sea Otter bullshit that it's "all new" and what not, bragging about the design as if fezzari had anything to do with it
  • 1 0
I was on a bike ride when you posted that Micah ;D
  • 1 1
it looks a lil wierd but i like it=)
  • 1 1
how much is that sexy thang
  • 1 1
 how much?
but it looks cool
  • 1 1
 Stoked on the horizontal dropouts!
  • 1 1
sweet its like a steel norco
  • 1 1
 very nice
  • 1 1
 Seexxxxyyyyyy
  • 1 1
 clean!
  • 1 1
 what seat is that
  • 1 2
nice bike, wish I could jump though
  • 6 8
 i like it (Y)
  • 3 5
 damn i want one!
  • 20 1
not sure how that bend is gonna hold up to hard landings
  • 4 4
Same its like a hardtail Kone bass and it looks mint
  • 41 2
the only thing that makes it different from other dirtjumpers is the fact that its ugly
  • 9 0
 Ok what is "(Y)"? Cleavage?
  • 2 0
no on msn it turns into thumps up
  • 8 0
Damn I'm way off that doesn't even look like thumbs up to me, I use : tup : tup

and what's with all the spacers if they wanted the bars low?
  • 1 0
So that the bars can be run with that many spacers, if they'd cut it to be super low, it wouldn't have that option.

flag jexy12 (Apr 17, 2010 at 19:58) (Below Threshold)
it may sound stupid but it looks like a trials fame
  • 2 0
Ok I see now, I looked at the headtube area again and realized what the article was talking about, w/out the spacers that would be pretty low, internal headset did the trick.
  • 3 1
the bend in the down tube is so the forks dont hit the frame on Xups an Bspins, MAJOR desighn fail on ALL DJ bikes with internal head sets
  • 3 1
it is not a "major design fail" on "all DJ bikes with internal headsets" i havnt even come across one where the headset hits the downtube.
  • 2 0
realy? ive seen plenty for isntance revell frames, my old static evil twin wich both have internal H'sets the new last frames an they have external H'sets my cannondale chase needs an extended lower cup to stop the forks from hitting the frame........just to name a few
  • 1 0
overall i like the looks of the bike. cool colour too. but to me the rear end looks like it might be a little weak for spins and such....
  • 1 4
 looks nice (Y)
