Ever since my first trip to this area I have wanted to spend more time here. This Spring it worked out to come camp for a few nights accompanied by some friends that are locals to the area and they gave us the royal treatment. Conditions were right and we spent the next 3 days out there exploring what the canyon had to offer. It was a Chute Show and I wouldn’t had it any other way!—Kurt Sorge
That's the issue with drone racers filming. They know how to maneuver but they're absolutely horrendous at knowing how to film properly. I don't understand why people keep using them but I guess it brings new meaning to, "That edit was sick!"
@arthom: I think a lot of the time the drone is leaned forward to keep the camera pointing at the rider, causing the pilot to have to accelerate forward too fast to keep from descending too fast, which causes him to outpace the rider despite matching the riders descent speed. So he has to double back to keep him in frame. I think the cam could have been angled to avoid this or they at least could have mixed in pov/ other angles more to avoid putting too much focus on the drone work. But cool overall
@gserrato: @ejopdahl yes I did a little research and cheers to the drone pilot, good work! I always thought that to do truly great drone photography you would need one pilot with a look ahead camera, and a separate camera operator with a camera on independent gimbals, but this would be heavy and expensive!
The technical ability of the riders and the drone pilot are outrageous. If we dialed back the 360 spins/perspective changes of the drone footage by 35%, I think we've dialed-in the new standard for how to shoot our sport.
The first 2/3 of the first chute, and especially the last two chutes were about the perfect combo of filming and riding. Some of the coolest shots I’ve ever seen for sure!
Daaaammmmmmnnnnnn Sorge!! That was the definition of FREERIDE!!! That last line he flashed had such a cool entrance. Drone pilot was great but I could have done without all the 360 spins. Upside down footage at the beginning was DOPE!!
Interesting that two of the first comments include ‘give the drone pilot a raise’ and “drone massacre”.

The drone filming is just awesome I'm impressed. The more and more drones in the video industry will just make it look classic in a few years I guess but for now it's just awesome. props to the pilot
That was incredible - nice to see a mtb movie that's about riding incredible terrain, and not focusing on getting mega-air for once! Fantastic terrain and views.
This is almost definitely not filmed with a 360 cam. No visible stitching artifacts, no distortion or aberration of any kind...which would be impossible to avoid with a 360 cam.
@bomadics: its just a racer type drone with a FPV setup.

Some sick dirt surfing right there, awesome edit!

The drone footage was sick!
