Video: Maribor Downhill Highlights with Eliot Jackson

Aug 18, 2021
by Alicia Leggett

bigquotesIt didn't rain... The third round of the UCI Downhill World Cup kicked into gear this weekend in a very dry & dusty Maribor. The Slovenian stop took no prisoners as the loose corners and loamy forest began taking riders out. Eliot Jackson was there to watch it all unfold.Red Bull Bike

Is there still a RB ban on race day footage? Appears so. Doesn't do the sport of DH any favours. So much spectacular action missed, so much lost sponsor coverage. I've watched the live feed, I'm done, none of the official RB pre/post clips add anything new or worthwhile. Fancy production values don't trump content. The best we have now is the great pre-race footage and rider vlogs. Gone is the post-race afterglow of all the snippets of amazing racing.

I don't know if you watched the live feed, but they missed the rock garden for the majority of riders... like, how do you do that

Didn't hear it in the live stream nor in this video... But top 4 qualifiers were the same as the top 4 in the finals, pretty neat-o.

Loam (/lōm/): a soil with roughly equal proportions of sand, silt, and clay.

The high pivot won the race! Just watch how Loris plows through those big holes in the berm. Everyone else got slowed down visibly! Myriam on the high pivot Commencal anyways.
