A long time ago I posted a comment saying something like: most people can't afford to have a bike quiver, but just one "do it all", hence it would be nice to have a crankworx single bike category, sort of King a Queen ranking, with just one bike and only being able to change tires and pedals. This way, those on limited budgets could also have a chance. What do you think, are crakworx organizers up to the challenge?
If you’re someone who only has one bike to compete in everything with, you’re very likely not going to be winning anything anyway. Run what you brung and do your best.
Besides, if I had to guess, I’d imagine if you can afford enough time off work to fly to an event and stay for a week, you can probably also figure out how to afford a second bike.
@joecrosby: No, what I meant was a competition where they have all the events, but they must be done on one bike. I was wondering what the optimal bike would be.
@joecrosby: In some absurd situation where you have to do/try everything, no walking/skipping. Maybe under death penalty or something, I know that would raise the stakes.
@joebiden: I bet the winner would be on like a 140mm, in that instance. The dh race would be the only thing that such a small bike would make things tricky. But you could put a gyro and a long dropper post in there and do slope and xc haha. That would actually be pretty cool.
@joecrosby: Maybe a slope duro bike? So 160/160, but they would have a rear shock that has full lockout. So they would full lockout for XC, and have it for everywhere else. I could 100% see single speed working here, but a really forgiving ratio. Or maybe a 9x. All I know for sure is that this would foster creativity, something the bike world needs badly now.
So she is saying that with her DH bike it is setup as a mullet, but there is a Marzoochi fork on there....they don't make 29" Dual crown forks.....is this a prototype perhaps or just a Fox 49 with a Marz sticker on it?
Nice to see the DH bike some more. They have been spotted in a few other places recently as well. The flip chips may see their way into another Marin bike getting a revamp VERY soon.
I like the slope trail. Looks fun! I have 5 bikes XC, Trail, E-bike, SS, SS. 3 out of the 5 are fully functional. 2 out of 5 have wheel issues. Getting a slope trail next.
Get one! Smokin’ deals right now. I haven’t had one in years. Just bought one for a trip to Whistler in a couple months. They are so much fun at bike parks, even if you don’t necessarily need one.
She needs three more bikes… well, 2.5 more
