Les Gets World Cup might have cancelled but the P2V team from Les Gets wanted to get some action so they built a track and invited a bunch of World Cup teams for a weekend of riding and timed runs. Today was the first day of practice and the track is super dry, loose and has a few sketchy jumps. Joe Breeden followed Sick Mick for a course preview. Enjoy!
Why are all of the tracks for the French national races this year better than any World Cup track I've seen in a decade? These tracks look rough, steep, and raw with lots of line choice. Whatever the rules are that the UCI is using, they result in boring looking bike-parky tracks.
Fuck that was amazing to watch. I agree with ya Mr. Robot. Outside of a couple of WC stops most tracks are pretty boring and I could imagine most average riders could make it down. Not sure if thats what the UCI is shooting for or what. I want to see the worlds best race on the most demanding terrain. Not bike park berms for 3 minutes.
Theres a track 200m to the right of this through the woods. One of my favourite tracks in the world. Les gets is sick as long as you keep off the bike park
@winko: I know what you mean, there is a dry line through there, but in general that side of the valley isn't as steep as the other where the video is filmed. Theres some good stuff near the golf course on that side, and the canyon run too
