Aug 28, 2024Evil Insurgent V1 27.5" Mediume
$1050 GBPEvil Insurgent V1 in Slimeball Green.
I've had it since new, we've had a lot of fun together, travelled the world and the bike has held much better than my body has over the years. Some upgrades since new when parts have been needed.
RockShox Monarch Plus RC3 Debonair 151mm rear travel
RockShox Lyric RCT3, Solo Air 160mm front travel
GX1 crank arms and mech SRAM cassette, chain and BB
SRAM Code RSC brakes with 200mm SRAM rotors
RockShox Reverb Stealth seatpost 150mm trave 440mm length (I think)
Carbon DT Swiss XMC 1200 30mm wide rims
DT Swiss 240 hubs
Schwalbe Magic Mary Super Trail TL-Ready EVO ADDIX Soft (tubeless)
Race Face (Chester?) carbon bars
Race Face Aeffect stem
Ergon GE1 Evo grips
SDG Seat
No pedals
The bike is still getting used on occasion, some small details may change.
It rides fine, but has the usual Evil creaks and rattles.
The DT Swiss XMC 1200 wheels were brand new with just 1 week in the Alps and a couple local trail rides on them.
The crank bolt needs replacing, it’s rounded off and I've had to adjust it to be able to remove it, but it doesn't come loose or cause any issues, just looks ugly.
The headset needs replacing.
The forks and shock work well, forks had a lower service last summer.
The brakes are okay but everyone has a different idea of what feel and bite they want.
Seat post needs a bleed! It sometimes gets stuck.
It's a used bike, there are cable rubs, scrathced, scufs, rock chips, marks where shoes have rubbed etc, normal wear and tear on all components. It is not perfect so do not expect a perfect bike.
Pay via PayPal and you cover fees if you want protecting.
I can post within the UK.

Ministry Cycles is Taking Pre-Orders for their Glued-Together Psalm 150
So much stick (pun) for this method.
Most cars that use an aluminium chassis are still glued together. Stronger than welds and you don't risk warping the frame in production.

I'd love to send one of those through a rock garden at full speed. Anyone fancy sending me one out for some R&D resting?

UCI & Warner Bros. Discovery Announce Viewing Options & New World Series Branding for 2023 World Cups
I've been a fan for decades, remember watching this DH on Eurosport on the old Astra satellite TV in the 90's and later on freecaster and then red bull. With the money grab going on in the sport I've cared less, now it is one less thing to commit my time to. Maybe I'll ride more.

Pinkbike Poll: How Often Do You Replace Your Frame, Headset, & Bottom Bracket Bearings?
My evil headset is at the stage where it locks up when left in the garage. Quick spray of lube and a few x ups and she's good to go! Probably will change it just before the summer.
The bottom bracket was done about a year ago as the last one disintegrated on me. It'll be okay for another year.
