Selected by Matt Wragg - We don't actually need to invoke our Mark Weir rule to explain why this is a POD. Quite simply, this is one of the nicest long lens shots I have seen all year. It's simple, but perfect. The beautiful use of the available light, with the dark back and foreground, but with the rider perfectly illuminated, the timing of the roost from the rear wheel and the big, shit-eating grin from Weir. That and the colour quality and sharpness from the 300mm make this a stunning shot.
Not to be that dick but that's not how the song... eh OK I won't be a dick in celebration of the holiday that brings a loving family together- Mark Weir day.
I can only dream of shooting like Ale.
Most of the time, the photographer downloads his images to a PB account. In this case Ale sent me a dropbox file and I downloaded it to my page. I almost aways put a photo credit on the rider tag so people don't think I am the artist.
