Some riding spots just need a little love to be brought back to life. After a few sessions of weed cleanup this trail was ready to go...

Selected by Matt Wragg - This is a really nicely balanced shot, both in terms of compostion and the well-controlled exposure with just enough flash on the rider and the backdrop perfectly exposed.
Doubt there's a single pixel you could really call 'raw', in this pic, though... from the daytime, to the timing, the lighting and even the rider's clothes, everything shouts careful planning for effect, obviously done by someone who knew exactly what they wanted and how to deliver it.
I'm talking about the raw feeling of the picture, by which I mean that it does not look overly processed and edited unlike a lot of pictures these days.
My backyard! I believe that's Newport Center in the background with Catalina Island on the horizon. Don't come here - it sucks. Short riding season. No real trails. Dusty all year.
Almost perfect lighting. I feel like it's a bit too bright and blown out. A slight filter on the flash would have softened the white up a little and awarded this photo a more organic feel, IMO.
