Rad! The light was not nearly that good for us in the Chuckanuts yesterday. Curious how you're liking that 17-35. I've got the same lens and haven't been that stoked on it opened up past f/5.6. The size of it is great though. I'd love to find a good fast wide angle zoom but don't want something as monster big as a 14-24.
Thanks, we got lucky but also waited in the cold rain for awhile in hopes for the god beams, paid off.
Great lens. I shoot so wide with it that I don’t care about softness at 2.8. The subject is usually small enough to not matter a ton. The f/4 lens is probably better. Newer and lighter, also cheaper. I had the 14-24. Too big/heavy/giant delicate convex glass, and no threads for filter. If I were to do it over again, 24mm f/1.4
Worth the wait! Thanks- yeah, maybe I need to spend more time with that lens, or just compose differently. I love the look of a wide lens but end up shooting w my 70-200 when it's dark because it feels more reliable. All my shots end up looking the same though. Glad you guys had a good day out there!
