Arguments for hardtails with dual crown forks is f****** stupid, who cares!. Iv seen more full susers snap than hardtails with big forks, work that out.....

 bad idea

Look at the chainstay, the bike isn't that raked. The frame should be fine.

Still bad idea. More just the fact that there is no use for it in any way for any reason.
  • 6 1
LOL the angle of the chainstays is not the problem, the angle of the headtube on a frame which is not made for forks like this is the big problem here. The huge lever (too long fork) will snap the headtubr off and break the riders face and teeth
  • 3 0
Lol apparently some people beleive its not a bad idea. Its called science. There would be soooo much more force being put on the bottom of the head tube since the rear end is solid. Even on a dh bike are able to ovalise head tubes. But of course no one will trust science.
  • 1 0
The chainstays are part of the frame, same as the headtube, it's not like just the front end gets lifted. And anyway, the frame comes stock with a 140mm fork, i doubt increasing it to 180mm (assuming it's lowered) is going to snap the frame. Although i'm no expert.... It's not like it went from 80mm to 200mm
  • 1 0
Your rite bud boxxers on a hard tail=no face .its only a matter of time and it will snap
  • 1 0
What would you say is a matter of time? 1 year 2 or 3 years? I would say anything could break after a year really couldn't it
  • 1 0
Just keep your eye on the paint around the headtube if it cracks throw the frame in the bin its not worth smashing your face in.

If you don't have the money for a full suspension don't put a thousand+ dollar fork on a frame that's worth 400. Buy a nicer hard tail with four or five inches in the front that will teach you how to ride a bike with the proper suspension set up and geometry for when you have the cash and coordination to shred a downhill bike. This thing could never be ridden at the speed of a race bike, it's for people like zakfreeridefreek that think they're the next josh bender.
  • 1 0
Lol you miss the point. a race bike is exactly that for racing. this just like mine is a freeride bike. you obviously don't know the feeling you get when your out with your buddies and you hit stuff on your ht they feel they can't hey the speed for on their sagging dh race bikes. don't get me wrong i would love a race sled but is it needed for me. no. even you would be fine on something smaller than your intense. but its what you like and want. p.s. i am not a god father of freeride nor did i push manufacturers to innovate an create stronger frames and components. i am not Josh bender. you douche

And diamond14 Why do you have to try to make people feel bad to make yourself feel better? your just another rider that believes he has the better bike so knows it all. we ride and enjoy so live an let live Smile
  • 1 2
I don't think i've made anyone feel bad but you, why are you getting so butt hurt over my opinion which makes compete sense. Everyone in the mountain bike community has had their fair share of single hucks that make the whole day of riding worth it, you should try a different riding style and see which you like more once and a while. And clicking the dislike arrow on my comments makes me really upset
  • 1 0
No you haven't made me feel bad. an im not 'butt hurt' lol i put my point in, just like you. But like i said i would like a full suss. just i don't have the cash. also i didn't minus you. you shouldn't get upset just because of that. Like i said live an let live. if he likes it then who cares

Guy who don't have money (yet) for FS frame Smile
  • 3 4
Wow that is sad! Hardtails are built with a steep head tube as DH bikes are raked out. It will most likely ride like crap when your on the Steeps!
  • 2 0
Here in Poland we have many riders who have to ride like that because they don't have money for FS bike/frame. Unfortunately it isn't isolated case...
  • 2 0
Eldavio i gave you props by mistake. so don't think anyone agrees with your comment. how can you know it rides like crap. you haven't rode it. nor do you have the balls to ever attempt dh on something like this. so you go and rely on 8 inch of rear end travel. do you design frames? Coz i believe that you probably don't. all ht's will have a steeper head angle to full on race sleds but it does not mean that they are too slack for a fork of that size. For example the evil imperial, much burlier that any DS frame ( except kapiels but that's a different kettle of fish) and can be ridden on any dh track by a good rider. Your opinion is invalid. props to you weeze Smile

So problem is that a lot of young polish riders prefer to buy cheap HT frames and put in them big, expensive dual crown fork. They don't understand that if they will buy nice HT frame and nice 160mm single crown, which is cheaper than dual crown, they will have lighter bike with better geometry which is a lot more rideable.
  • 1 0
Totally agree with that. HT bike are for single crown forks. It is better to spend $350/400 for the HT frame and SC fork, and save the rest, saving for a new FR frame and DCfork. But understand this, I once had a bike and I loved it Smile

 Thank you, tadziu-
  • 2 0
I give you props for that. and i understand you perfectly. You too diamond. and i didn't negative prop you either. im not going to argue because your right. But i still will say that my bike for me and anyone else that has rode it rides nice. i personally believe it probably gives people more confidence with DC forks. although as you say it would feel better with something smaller.
