Exactly. MTBs don't need cables through the headset. Instead, trim the extra couple feet of excess cable housing hat far too many brands leave on the front of bikes.

@outsideBen: It's weird that PB omits any Norco comparison in this article when it was one of the most recent XC releases they've covered. Looks like Giant is USD $1K more for frame only but that gets a 200 gram savings but the cost is cable tourism and PF BB.

Almost had me until I saw the headset cable routing, PF BB, and the frame price. The new Norco seems like the class leader here to me, though I've ridden none of them.
