Rockshox Pike Ultimate RC2, 150mm travel, 44mm offset

$400 USD
Up for grabs is this 2022 Pike Ultimate. I took if off a Stumpjumper after 1.5 seasons and 650 miles (per Strava). It's working great, no issues whatsoever, I just wanted to try the Mattoc pro and like it better. 29er version, 150mm travel, 44mm offset, 15x110 boost axle, 7.5" of steerer tube left. The air shaft has been upgraded to the Debonair C1 The fork is in great shape with 0 mechanical issues. There are some scratches on the sticker on the left leg and on the end of the axle. The stanchions are pristine. I'll send the stock air shaft along as well as the tokens I have left (2, there are currently 2 in the fork). I can also include an aftermarket mudguard which works really well IMO. Buyer pays shipping, I can knock some $$ off for local pickup. Edit: priced dropped to $400, get that thing out of my house!

Seb Stott's 2024 Predictions
Counterpoint: going from 170mm to 165mm cranks on my trail bike allowed me to run my OneUp dropper at 210 instead of having to drop it to 200. Stupid Specialized frame and its kinked seat tube limits the insertion of the post, with the 170mm cranks I had to live with a seat that was a couple mm too high (pisses off my knees) or go past max insertion in the frame (which puts the dropper actuator barely in contact with the frame so the post creeps down reaaaaaaaal slowly). Losing 10 mm of drop isn't much in the grand scheme of things, but having the full 210 makes me happier.

Pinkbike Poll: Metric vs Imperial - Which Do You Prefer For Measuring Bikes?
Bud, all the Apollo mission guidance computers were programmed and operated in metric. The displays were converted to imperial for the convenience of the flight crew. Not like they were flying manual anyway. Swing and a miss.

Orbea’s 2024 Rallon Gets More Travel & Slacker Geo
Counterpoint: I switched from an Occam to a Stumpjumper last year and the Orbea quality is vastly superior to what I'm seeing from Specialized. Every bike has its quirks but in general riding or working on the Stumpy has a been a significantly less pleasant experience. I beat the shit out of the Occam for 3000 miles and it's held up significantly better than the Stumpy after 1/2 the mileage. Buddy is mine is on a Rallon now, coming from a Pivot, same feedback.

Must Watch: Kilian Bron Continues His World Tour in 'Cross Countries'
You're not wrong, except that the arch is not Centennial, it's Rattlesnake. The Rattlesnake canyons are a weird zone, definitely in a designated wilderness and within the boundaries of the national monument, but there is a 2-mile cutout the width of a road that was specifically made to allow 4x4 access to the arches (not too many people want to deal with the 16 mile technical slog to get there from the river). The arches sit a few hundred yards inside the wilderness boundary, but on any given day you'll find a bunch of assholes driving jeeps or ATVs on the old double track and within a few 100' of some of the arches. Definitely a dumb move from Kilian/Commencal not to have done their homework on this, even if they were there when a pile of other idiots were happily petrotaining in an area they shouldn't be in. Similar to the Dean Potter climbing Delicate Arch story which led to a climbing ban in Arches NP years ago: it's fine if anonymous asshats do it on a regular basis, but once a more visible member of a user group perceived as problematic does it and it makes a bit of noise (regardless of impact, of which there was none, especially compared to a jeep trashing trough the area), the BLM takes a close look and can be expected to act as they always do, heavy handedly and with wide consequences. Edit: I did not put a * in asshole, PB did that. My feelings about petro-douches warrant many more ***.

Orbea Occam M10

$2500 USD
Price drop to $2500, get this thing out of my house!! I made the mistake of getting an enduro pig last year which led to wanting a lighter short travel bike and now my one-bike-to-do-it-all has become redundant and needs to go. The bike is perfect, the ideal steed for UT, light and nimble enough for big XC days but more than capable in serious terrain (haven't found its limits, I usually crater first and it's not the bike's fault). This is a 2020 Orbea Occam M10, custom MyO color, purchased new in September 2020. It's been my only bike for 2 seasons and saw lots of use (Strava says 2300 miles). It's been ridden hard, crashed a bunch of times (not gonna lie on this), and very well cared for. A full RideWrap was installed on day 1, all frame bearings have been replaced Spring 2022, and the bike hasn't been ridden much since then (250ish miles). 31.4 lbs with pedals (I'm keeping those), very reasonable considering the beefy build. With carbon wheels it was just over 30 lbs. More details below: . Frame: full carbon, size L. I'm 5'11" with a 31.5" inseam and long torso, the fit is perfect. Some superficial scratches in the wrap all over, esp. rear triangle. Pics of all the damaged areas included, most are just damage to the wrap with dirt ingress (making them look worse than they are). There are some chips in the top coat and one spot is deep enough to expose the carbon layup (not a structural issue at all, I would have filled it with epoxy and painted it but I think I'd get accused of hiding something). . Fork: Manitou Mezzer Pro, currently set at 150mm, adjustable from 140 to 180 (without any extra parts). This thing is a beast, 37mm stanchions, almost as stiff as a 38 but quite a bit lighter, incredible mid-stroke support, infinitely tunable. Once you go to a double positive air chamber fork you'll never look back. Yes, you'll have to learn to live with the reverse arch, IMO it looks much better, especially with the custom stealth decals. The fork has been serviced frequently (very easy to do it yourself) with a full rebuild and damper bleed in the Spring 2022. There are scratches on the crown and 1 scratch on each stanchion. Both have been filed clean and flat, the bigger one I filled with nail polish and made invisible and barely detectable by touch but the patch wore off after a while. The mud guard is the stock one, 2/3 attachment points have failed, I've modified it with trusty zipties, works as well as new. . Shock: Manitou Mara Pro, currently at 55mm stroke to boost the rear travel to 148ish mm (stock is 50mm stroke for 140mm travel). This shock is awesome, I blows the DPX2 that came stock on the bike and the new FloatX out of the water in terms of support and composure. I run another one on my big bike and LOVE it. It has a climb switch, LSC, HSC, and rebound adjustment. Also fully rebuilt Spring 2022. . Dropper: OneUp V2 210 version, currently shimmed to 190 mm cause I have short legs. Works great, I serviced it last fall. There is a scratched area on the post which I cleaned as best as I could (filed the burrs, filed with nail polish, sanded to flat so it's not very noticeable to the touch). There are also some very fine vertical scratches caused by what I assume is grime stuck in the seals. Dropper remote is Shimano XT, brand new. . Drivetrain: full XT. The crankset is brand new, 175mm cranks and 30t chainring (the Wasatch is steep). The 10-51 cassette is in good shape with plenty of miles left, same for the chain (which has a couple dots of rust at the moment, will take care of that before letting the bike go). The derailleur shows the standard amount of scratches but is functionally perfect with a freshly serviced clutch. The shifter has 0 issues . Brakes: XT-M8120 4 piston calipers with 203 mm XT Freeza rotors (centerlocks). MTX brake pads with under 100 miles, red in the front for better modulation, gold in the rear for POWER! I've never once experienced the dreaded wandering bite points with these brakes, they just work. Not the most subtle but they'll stop a truck. Rotors are true with plenty of life left. Levers show some wear (paint rubbed off from dirty gloves, scratches from eating shit) but are functionally at a 100%. . Wheels: stock DT Swiss XM 1650 29" rims (aluminum), 28 spokes, 30 mm IW, tubeless. The hubs are unbranded DT350, rear upgraded to the 52t ratchet for better engagement, centerlock rotor interface. I had some other wheels for most of the life of the bike, this set has about 500 miles on it. Wheels are true, no dings, broken or bent spokes, some light scratches in spots. . Tires: brand new Specialized Butcher 2.3 front and Eliminator 2.3 rear, GridTrail casing. The Spesh tires measure about the same as a Maxxis 2.5 WT. I personally love how they handle and for 1/2 the price of Maxxis that's all I run on my bikes. . Cockpit: RaceFace Aeffect 35mm bars, 20 mm rise, cut to 760mm, a bit stiff but not enough to justify swapping them. RaceFace Aeffect 50 mm stem. Brand new ODI vapor grips (slip ons, I like them better than lock on as they're skinnier). The headset is the stock Acros one, 0 issues with it. . Saddle: WTB Silverado, the regular width cro-mo version. No creaking, no issues with the rails, some scratches on the side, one cut (fixed with aquaseal). . Odds and ends: I removed the Orbea chainguide and installed an AbsoluteBlack Taco bash guide (chain guide + bash guard). It required an ISCG adapter as the Occam frame doesn't have tabs, and that adapter had to be modified so it wouldn't interfere with the carbon frame. A bit janky when you look under the hood but it works and has saved me from doing real damage to the BB area a few times. The derailleur hanger has been updated to the NS Billet machined version which is sturdier and all metal (the stock one is installed with a plastic thing that loves to break). I also have a bunch of parts I bought for a rebuild that I will send off with the bike I can ship the bike within the US, we can chat about the price of that. Local sale would be ideal. Feel free to make offers below asking price, I may go with it, I may laugh at you.

Fox Float DPS performance (Stumpjumper tune)

$180 USD
$180 shipped, get that thing out of my sight!! This shock is a take-off from a 2022 Stumpjumper (non EVO) with about 100 miles on it. It rides shockingly well for being so little, probably because of the custom tune Specialized has on those to work well with the Stumpy. I didn't give it much of a chance though and went straight to a RS SuperDeluxe which realistically didn't provide any measurable improvement. I'm selling the bike as it turns out I don't get along with short travel rigs and don't see myself ever needing a 45mm stroke shock so it has to go. The shock is in immaculate condition, I opened it once to stick a bigger volume spacer in (I'll send the bag of Fox spacers along with the shock) but that's the extent of what's been done to it. No play is the 3-position switch, the firm position feels pretty locked, I only rode it wide opened. Front hardware is still in place (for the Stumpy), I re-used the back. Price includes shipping, if you're local I can knock some $$ off.
