Video: Yoann Barelli on Switching to Guerrilla Gravity & His New Gnarvana
Looks like he was courted by Transition too, based on that shot of him unboxing a blurred out frame ( they should have blurred out the box too if they didn’t want us to know). I’d have been hype to see him land there too.

Pinkbike Poll: How Important Are Water Bottles?
@AKwheels: water sloshing in a bottle ruins your trail experience? That’s some princess and the pea shit if ever I’ve heard it.

Pinkbike Poll: Would You Rather Buy a Frame Only or a Complete Bike?
Wasn't sure how to answer the last one accurately. In general, I'm the only one allowed to work on my bikes. But when I have bought completes from a shop, i've never been given the option of not having them build it. I've asked if I could just have it in the box straight from the manufacturer unassembled, and been told that they'd be violating their dealer agreements if they did that. I get it, no hard feelings toward the shops. But it's kind of a waste of everybody's time; inevitably I'm going to be swapping parts, cutting steer tubes, trimming housing and recabling the whole thing, adjusting the shifting and whatnot, to the point that we'd all be better off if they just skipped the in-shop assembly part or the process.

Bike Check: Jordan Sarrou's World Champion Custom Specialized Epic
The UCI rainbow isn’t a ROYGBIV rainbow. If you check out the stripes on any world champ’s jersey, you’ll see that the colors are blue/red/black/yellow/green, same as the Olympic rings.

Ridden & Rated: 11 of the Best New Men's Riding Pants
I've got the Giro pants—the cut is good, and they're mostly comfy though the waist does tend to sag out over the course of a day on the bike, and as the article notes, the phone pocket sucks. It's a really bad design. I also picked up a pair of the NF DP3, and they're mind-blowingly good. They fit perfect, breathe great, are comfy as could be. Those Patagonia pants didn't hold up for Cam MacRae over at NSMB. He blew out a butt seam, says the patterning could use some work.

The article says the Giro are Bluesign certified, which is an environmental certification. I agree that it would be great to make environmental impact a standard part of these reviews.

Pinkbike Awards: 5 Products That Have Stood the Test of Time
5/5 here, but across a couple of bikes. My Sentinel has DHR IIs, and I use flat pedals and 5.10 shoes there. My XC/DC setup has XT trail pedals, Spesh Z-cage, and DT 350s.
