SRAM has offered this for a couple of years now. Works super well in my experience since, at least for the locking part, you don't have to aim for a lever. Quite nice when you're at 110% effort!

@yoobee: Some people at Landmannalaugar are already pissed off when they see a biker on the designated trails (which for the moment is still legal). But like "scweppes" said in his commet above, stories like this will generate waves within icelandic media, which risks autorities taking action and banning biking all together in some regions.

@arnaldur: As an Icelander living abroad and visiting regularly to ride and spend time with the family I clicked this article with excitement only to cringe hard at the sight of the "freeride" pictures...
We always have to be super careful when riding to avoid grumpy comments from hikers or managers, even on heavily frequented trails like the Laugarvegur.

They should have added 5000 meters of elevation and converted it to feet. That would have been "nice".

Yes, same goes for complete bikes! Picked up a 2019 Stumpjumper at 40% discount with litteraly the same spec as this years model. (Luckily that was before the whole lockdown thing during which people panic bought bikes...)
