Formula Release Yoke Mount Compatible Mod Coil Shock
@rideformula: What is the way? I think that’s where most of the concern/criticism is coming from. We’re all bike nerds here….if something was changed and y’all take the time to make a press release, can’t you at least explain how it’s different. If it’s patent pending or something magical then couldn’t it be broadly described with a follow up when the time is right? I’m interested but find this, secretive “It’s better I swear!” a bit lame

DH Field Test: Commencal Supreme V5 - Too Complex or Perfectly Tuned?
@Brave1i1toaster: judging by how abnormally fast 8 gold foxes of various size flew off the shelves at my shop, I’d say the people as a whole approve. At least those 8 and all countless regular customers who saw it, liked it, and then almost threw up when they realized that the cost is equal to 6 or 7 of their Walmart and it wouldn’t even fit. They would walk away shaking their head but they still liked the look. We don’t sell a ton of suspension overall and 3 forks sold because customers saw a bike with a fresh one installed and said do that to my bike. I’ve seldom experienced a fork bringing multiple customers into the shop-pretty cool!

Spotted: Matt Hunter's Aluminum Specialized Stumpjumper Has a Cable Actuated Derailleur
@ahhchon: The 5 dev chainring was already compatible with the flat top chain but there was about an hour of guess and check to get the cranks happy in the bb and the chain line close, then readjust the chain guide. There were some small compromises but the chain line was as good or better than some factory bikes I’ve built and the shifting was identical so while not endorsed by anyone it worked in my case. You’ll have to do some experimenting to see if your setup will work. Good luck with whatever you choose to do

I ran XO Transmission and eewings (5-dev chainring was T-Type compatible but still 3mm offset) on my ‘22 stumpy evo for a short time. You’re coloring outside the lines but it can work just fine. Shuffled a small BB spacer around and needed like 4 or 5ish clicks of micro adjust to get everything running smooth. Don’t be super bummed if your setup doesn’t allow it though. To me anyway, transmission felt like ease of installation, lack of follow-up maintenance and shift quality were improved but cost, total system complexity, and shift time all took a hit. A simple mechanical XO setup with xtr cassette and chain is cheap by comparison (we’re talking about top end drivetrains anyway…) and requires a couple turns of a barrel adjuster every once in awhile plus replacing cable/housing once a year to keep a nice light feel at the shifter. More work but replacing cables is a simple task and performance is excellent. Oh if you’re on an e-bike then definitely get transmission. Sorry for the book

Moots Announces New MXC Titanium Hardtail
@st-lupo: Shill it on PB? It’s a press release like any other. Idk, PB may seem like a different audience but if I could afford one I certainly would. I’d entertain selling a kidney too lol. They’re rideable art that oozes quality that most anyone can appreciate. The money is in the details and you can ride all the shuttles and chairlifts you want and still own a sick hardtail. Personally I think everyone should. Maybe not Ti but they’re excellent tools for providing instant feedback on line choices
