Opening Day Survey 2023: What People Are Riding at the Whistler Bike Park
I believe it to be because of the modern geometry trends.
If the bike is longer, the rider is more "stretched out" and their torso is more parallel to the ground. This causes the rider to be "looking up" more, and this can sometimes be interfered with when wearing a neck brace.
Older bikes tended to have a more upright geometry, and this allowed the rider's neck to stay straighter and thus be less affected by a neck brace.
But this is only a theory.

First Ride: Archibald Cycles' AC1 Doomsday Machine
@hamncheez: That is for the old effigear 'box, which has the cranks connected different to the drive sprocket. This effigear 'box is the mimic, which uses the same form factor as the pinion gearboxes.
So you could reasonably swap the effigear for a pinion on this bike if you so choose.

Shimano Patent Shows Direct Mount Electronic Derailleur
@vinay: Effigear's new Mimic gearbox uses the same mounts as Pinion, since Pinion made their mount open-source (in an effort to get more brands on board with gearboxes)

Shimano Patent Shows Direct Mount Electronic Derailleur
I can't wait.
After seeing SRAM's "Transmission" prices, gearboxes actually look like a good deal. Before, they were a pricey option for enthusiasts (me included), but now they're market price

"The ELEV8 dropper employs radio frequency to communicate with its remote rather than Bluetooth"
Bluetooth is a radio protocol, so is wifi. They operate at specific frequencies. They're likely using a different protocol like zigbee or even lower frequency. But it's all "radio frequency"

The Ultimate Guide to the 2023 Racing Season
I know it would be a lot of research, but it would be rad if this article could be updated over time with links for how to watch events that can be watched (online of course).
I already love having this article, but we over here on the internet are lazy and can't be bothered to using google for more than 30s at a time ;)
Imagine if articles like this would be the jumping-off point for everyone to watch these events, it would be the most viewed article in mountain biking each season!

Spotted: Specialized's New XC Race Bike
@mikekazimer: its always a tough comparison eh... yall write an article and publish it to a main page and whatnot...
VitalMTB just has a bunch of people pooping at work (me included) who can notice and upload the moment something gets out there.
Sucks for ya, and I think when you make the effort to present more information on the subject, as an article, it compensates. VitalMTB might have it first, but pinkbike will have it in full
