The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly - Pinkbike Editors' Favorite Night Riding Lights
Brian, your logic on flashlights is mostly on point. Those flashlight geeks make the best lights. All the bikepacking dorks use headlamps from flashlight manufacturers. The biggest win is removeable, replaceable batteries. When racing / on a long tour, I end up keeping my light on my helmet all day, and popping in the battery at night to minimize neck strain, but also keep faff to a minimum. I use a Fenix HM65R headlamp, it rocks. On the other hand, flashlights mounted on the bars can be a great fit for gravel/road riding. Maybe not MTB as, they mostly don't have a super-wide light like outbound does, helping you see around corners. It also will be a fully circular beam, so if it's pointed too high, it can really suck for anyone in front of you (ie; oncoming traffic). The EU has some cool laws regarding this.

NOBL Launches 1386g $1,499 XC Wheelset with New Core Hub
Heck yeah!!! I'm fired up to see more riders get to be on these rims, they just ride so well. I've been putting in a good bit of time on the XC rims, and have nothing but good things to say. Perfect pairing for todays modern downcountry bikes.

Shimano XT Di2 Review: Great Shifting, But Where’s the Clutch?
The precise, fast shifting is actually so nice. It just feels right. Finally ran low on battery after over 20-25hrs of XC riding, and it lets you know by disabling multishift. Still ran it for a few hours to try and drain it to zip, but it held on nicely. Pretty sweet to know it'll reduce power to get you home when it counts. The lack of clutch is noticeable though. The chain slap hasn't been a huge concern for me, but on the other hand, the cage swings back with a thud on large impacts. It's wild how audible and tactile the sensation is. Not a deal-breaker on a short travel bike by any means. However, I'd be interested to see of any "hacks" or diy projects to slow down the cage's movement. I'm sure there's some tinkering going on, but it might still be early days.

Thomas Vanderham Parts Ways With Rocky Mountain After 25 Years
Total bummer. Vanderham and Rocky are like Dwyane Wade and the Heat - glad to see him land somewhere new, but their shared legacy will live on forever. Congratulations on 25 years 3

Video: Joel Ducrot Out for a Rip on his Ransom
@d-jo: Yeah, I can confirm that! Audio isn't dubbed in. I think what you're hearing as "fake" is some of the sound design elements and music, all the bike noise is real. Totally a personal taste though, respect the opinion.
