@weeksy59: But that is not going to continue for long. The EU has a lot of faults and issues but with things like this they are actually good. The EU Right to repair directive that was announced in 2024 will force companies to offer serviceability for products like these motors. It will be illegal to force consumers to throw away the old motor and buy a new one with no chance of repairing it.
EU member countries have 24 months to implement a directive, so this will eventually force Shimano to make their motors serviceable.

It might pedal well, it might feel good when you're actually riding it. But i would never ever buy a trail bike for that money that weighs as much as my couple of years old mid-level spec Canyon Sender DH rig. It's just crazy what has happened to trail bikes the last couple of years.

The sport is way too small to warrant WRC-esque coverage. It's expensive and there will never be enough money in it to make something like that happen.
I get it that the riders are very talented and "deserve" more. But the reality is that MTB Enduro is a flawed concept as a pro sport when we add the realities to the equation.

My guess is that this is not a normal athlete contract.
I think he became a part-owner of Canyon (we can only speculate how many % of the shares) and they took the opportunity to announce a "10 year" deal as a marketing stunt.
Either way, good move from Canyon.

I'd assume that this means that he got shares of the company and became a part-owner of Canyon.
"10 year" contract is mostly marketing.

@Exbow: 100% agree. I don't get why people blame UCI, Discovery etc when it's so obvious what the problem is for MTB Enduro racing.
It's the discipline itself. The money and eyeballs aren't there to warrant the massive budget it would take to put on a proper live TV/stream coverage. And without that, nobody is interested in it.
MTB Enduro as a TV sport is flawed from the get go. And no matter how much HC enduro fans blame the UCI that wont change.
