@singletrackjamaica: I’ve watched every semi and race this year. The drone shots have sucked at every single event. I don’t know if it’s the same pilot at every event, but it’s been terrible every time. FWIW, I have never flown a drone in my life, so I have no idea what’s involved. But as an armchair pilot, the drones are way too close to the athletes.

Literally this entire sport is based on a pay to play structure. I don’t understand why you’re surprised. It just so happens that some people pay MORE than others, so they are given more privileges. Paying for privilege is the backbone of the bike industry, and some would argue, society.
