At the start of Williams' run I wasn't hoping he'd win, but a couple of sectors in I couldn't help but cheer for him. He rode so well, it didn't look to me like he was on the ragged edge, just clinical and smooth. (Until the last corner!) I agree, he deserved the win. Also loved Vali's sportsmanship in wanting her teammate to take the win. Downhill (and Enduro too I think) are such great sports with the camaraderie among the riders.

Lisa Baumann Picks Up Monster Energy Sponsorship

I wish athletes would say no to being sponsored by companies that make shitty products that are bad for people's health. You're getting paid to encourage kids to make unhealthy choices. Watched a Jack Moir vid recently where he stopped in the middle of it, cracked a Monster can and took a big pour, made me want to puke. With obesity and mental illness stats going off the charts, it just sucks. F*ck the soft drink and energy drink companies poisoning our kids - and the fast food industry too. /rant> P.S. Written by an old fart who'll never get the chance to turn down an energy drink sponsorship deal.

I used to really enjoy the EWS highlights though, even the year that Ric slowed down his commentary so much that it got irritating. :-D (I guess it was to make him easier to understand?)

Pinkbike Poll: What Made You Stop Caring About Enduro?

@Bomberone: I also think ebikes killed the enduro star. A few years ago, Enduro was the kind of riding that I most aspired to, but then EWS sold out and the coverage and venues went downhill (pun!), and I bought an ebike and gave up on dreams of Enduro stardom. I also started watching Downhill around that time and the race format is way more exciting.
