Thought Experiment: How Much Does It Actually Cost To Start Mountain Biking?
Most likely someone already wrote this, but in all honesty you don't need all that to start mountain biking. I started with a 50 bucks bike back in 1996, and I know inflation and whatnot should be considered, but you don't really need all of this to start doing it. All you need is a bike good enough to take you up and down, and a helmet: that's all we needed. The rest of the stuff are ideal but definitely not a blocker.
