Brage Vestavik Joins Red Bull
There's a decent chunk of change associated with it. About a decade ago a Red Bull athlete told me he had to keep at least 1 crate 'within reach' at all times, like in his car, his garage, his kitchen, etc. So if he saw someone drinking another energy drink he could swap it out for them, he always had one to offer, and had one on hand for everyone in photos, etc.

Video: $180 vs. $2400 Drivetrain - Budget vs. Baller Episode 6
I agree, but I'll still watch because I find Jason and Henry entertaining. The elephant in the room is that neither took the only sensible course of action. That is, to spend about $1,000 on a fork and shock service, brake bleeds, new pads, new cables, new (decent) tyres, frame bearings, etc. and then stop. An unlimited budget vs. 'buy shitter parts rather than repair/service what you have' doesn't actually tell us anything.

Atherton Bikes Launch Direct to Consumer Website Sales
Is there *really* a non-emotional reason to buy anything other than a Specialized, Giant or Trek? OK, that's a little reductive, but all super-high end brands rely on more than cold hard logic in the buying decision. I'd rather have an Atherton bike than a Yeti, but both are emotional/illogical choices. That doesn't mean there's no place for them.

First Look: Orange Stage 6 Evo
We know all the jokes and comments that will come out now. But I think of Orange slightly differently. To use a sports car analogy, Santa Cruz are Ferrari, Yeti are Lamborghini, Specialized are Porsche. And Orange are like Caterham, or Morgan. They're not trying to be the same thing as the 'big boys'. In it's way the product is competitive, but it's also traditional, idiosyncratic and a little bit obnoxious. In that sense you either get it, or you don't. And if you don't get it then I don't think Caterham/Morgan/Orange really care. They'll continue to do their thing and you can take it or leave it. In the same way nobody cross-shops a new Morgan and a new Ferrari, I don't think many/any are cross-shopping Santa Cruz and Orange. Maybe 3/5/8 years ago they did, but not any more. By buying a brand new Orange, same as brand new Caterham or Morgan, you are making something of a statement.

@blackjack88: Are you pronouncing that 'scone', or 'scone'? I for one would always say 'scone'. I hope you agree.

Review: Fox Rampage Pro Carbon Helmet
When I worked at Fox I asked this question about why no Fidlock, and was told it was 50/50 so the sponsored athletes made the final call in favour of D-rings.

Review: Fox Rampage Pro Carbon Helmet
Primarily because of the vents, especially those on the top. There are penetration resistance tests that this lid wouldn't pass. The EPS and carbon layup is different to account for different vehicle speeds, and also the visor would need to be longer for MX.

Unfortunately it looks like he'll be the next to be eliminated anyway. There was a pretty negative response to his attitude and demeanour this week.
