(Large) Knolly Chilcotin

$1800 USD
Selling my 2016 Knolly Chilcotin. I’ve been living out of the country for the last two years and haven’t ridden it. Built it up and literally ride it about 10-15 rides total. Lame. Pedals not included. 170mm sram gx cranks. Shimano slx shifter and XT derailleur with wolf tooth big cog Shimano XT brakes Dvo topaz rear shock (this thing is awesome) Rockshox pike on the front. Hope headset Reverb dropper post (needs a bleed but absolutely rideable) Santa Cruz peaty grips Chromag trail master saddle Hope seatpost collar Derby all mountain wheels (carbon) 820mm bontrager bars (weirdly really like this width for downhills) So despite my absolutely amazing bike tech skills, I managed to get some mineral oil on the pads. They will stop fine but holy crap, everyone in 3 counties will know you’re braking. Dropper post could use a bleed as well. That being said this thing is ready to rip.

Santa Cruz tallboy LTc (large)

$2300 USD
Selling my Santa Cruz talkboy LTc in size large. Come with custom built carbon wheels with dt Swiss 240s hubs, race face carbon bar, sram XO1 1x11, shimano XT brakes, ks lev dropper post, pike fork (set to 150mm), and cane creek double barrel air shock. This has been my main squeeze and rides wonderfully. I’m 6’, 190lbs and it’s lightweight, jumps great, and tracks corners beautifully. Pics show my light (not included) and a huge goofy fender. Happy to remove fender and send additional pics. Honestly - the fender is pretty sweet though (well, not riding around with 3 lbs of mud on my back and butt is pretty sweet).

$100 USD
Selling a used cane creek double barrel air in 200x50mm from my knolly chilcotin. Used maybe one season before I swapped it with a DVO and it’s been chilling in my spare parts bin since.

Are you Concerned About the Demise of Bike Shops? - Pinkbike Poll
2nd the opinion of adapting. (full caveat: I don't own/operate a bike shop so my ass really isn't on the line) I was hoping bike shops would change/evolve/adapt from the traditional retail operations into a service based industry - primarily coaching/instruction and guiding operations. For instance, instead of the bike shops I encountered as a new rider - all trying to sell me a hardtail XC bike with ultra-aggressive head angle (read: 71 or 72*) - I'd like to see shops focus on instructing new riders and perhaps providing rentals to get people started.

Behind the Bike: Developing the XXL Santa Cruz V10
Last photo - something I've always wondered - why don't downhillers run their seatposts cut down to bottom out the saddle? Do they need some sort of a pedal platform? I just assumed that a lower saddle would be better, but it seems like most people always leave a bit of post.

Luck of the Irish: Race Day - EWS Round 3, Ireland
Suggestion - Would love to read more of the stories behind all the mechanicals and such. Like where/under what conditions Rude flatted, and what it took to get down that stage. Guessing he wasn't running procore (who is?). And same for Beerten - why did she end her stage 2 early? (what is stage 2?). etc etc. Just some more context for everything. Great coverage though!
