Wow, that's nearly as light as alu rims....

Spank Oozy 350 rim is the same internal width with the same intended use and 15g lighter than the Agent rim, so much for carbon being lighter.

Oh and the alloy oozy is only about £70

Finally I can buy a set of wheels, that I want to keep and take with me to my next bike, the one after that and so on. Only ever having to change the hubs, when the bike industry wants to create yet a new standard size. These rim carry a no quibbles lifetime warranty, I don't need to worry about breaking them, as there'll sort me out with a new rim. I've spent thousands over the years on new wheels, now I can buy one set, that will last for years, sounds like a win to me!

Well new standards could change that?

When carbon wheelsets come down to a real price-point that isn't just a "get rich quick" scheme, then I'd be tempted.
£600 carbon wheelsets could easily be the norm now. (and that's leaving room for a profit margin!)

I don't know, £1300 for a carbon wheelset that contains no far eastern parts at all sounds pretty good to me. Rims from Canada, Hubs from England, Spokes from Hungary. Makes you wonder what ENVE are playing at nowadays.
.
Ironically the company that used to sell low cost, good quality carbon wheels gave up on it since they couldn't make any money on them. If Superstar couldn't sell enough £450 carbon wheelsets to make it worthwhile everyone else is knackered, even Light Bicycle can't do you a wheelset for less than £550 before shipping and taxes. Welcome to Brexit Britain and buy a set of these wheels before they go up in price!

@Fix-the-Spade: grab carbon rims for £120 a pop... I've got new ones for sale now.
Brexit or not global sourcing and manufacturer direct sales are already happening.
I could get someone premium branded hubs, top end bladed spokes and next generation carbon rims for sub £500 easy.
Drop the premium hubs n spokes and I could sort decent wheelsets for sub £300.

@scar4me: which brand are you talking about mate?

Carbon wheels are personally not for me, for a number of reasons (too stiff for my riding, like to be able to just 'bend' a rim back when required, cost of replacement rims) but thats a decent price and very good warranty to go with it - If you like carbon rims this seems like a great choice.

Cost of replacement rims is an invalid reason to not like them

@Scotj009: Depends, if you need to get a bike shop to rebuild those rims every time it will soon mount up. If you can lace them yourself then happy days.

@Scotj009: fair point, I should read before typing, didn't realise they were a lifetime warranty.

the only issue is with racing where you might lunch a rim and won't be able to get warranty in time - I suppose keep a cheap alloy rim spare will sort that though.

@willaasss: You won't break that many, also a warranty usually is free, I would suspect (as someone who works in a shop) that the place that you get the rim from would rebuild the wheel atleast at a reduced rate

@Scotj009: i go through 2/3 alloy rears a year, tried a Light bicycle carbon 4 rides.... Not all riders are created equal fella ;-)

Even if it was a slightly reduced cost which i doubt, workshop fees are workshop fees at the end of the day and you've still got the hassle and or cost of sending it off and being without a wheel. If i was light enough or my trails were all flowy i'd most probably think about it...

@willaasss: I to have smashed my way through 4 lB down hill 38mm rims with the extra layup, 3 rear ones and even a front one.

I haven't however destroyed the DT F570 that is now mounted on the rear that has been smashing through as many outer shape lines I can find in the lake district. It might be a little bent and flat in places but its still rolls and does its job nicely, something that can't be said for carbon.

It weighs about a 100g's more, which I feel a lot less than the cringing feeling i had when running carbon rims and tackling rock gardens. I don't believe many people don't experience that cringing feeling when riding such expensive wheels and getting out of shape. Personally I like not caring about my wheels and riding what lines I think is fastest not the smoothest.

For me the trial of carbon rims was and expense and a hassle I wish i didn't experience.

@StraightLineJoe: dt seem to be working out okay for me at the minute too. I've a set on my fritzz that have stood the test of time to be fair. Mangled two easton/raceface rears on my patrol in the past few months and I've a dt on order so my fingers are crossed! Lol

I'm with you on the carbon rim thing tho, I defo ride faster and with more confidence now I haven't got carbon rims.

I'm sure for some they are a viable option but for the time being they aren't for me!

just buy dt swiss alloy rims ,put some carbon-look tape on them .
then you have : a light wheel
a strong wheel
and a wheel that looks like trendy carbon

Anyone know why this website link isn’t working anymore? Have weareone stopped having a uk presence?
