@ocnlogan: I couldn't get any short cranks in 24mm so I molested a pair of old isis spline rf cranks. Picture here; https://www.pinkbike.com/u/d3toid/album/homemade-short-cranks/ If anyone is interested I can upload more pics of the milling ops.

Galfer Release New Disc Shark Rotor With Bold Claims
I have cheap chinese calipers in my machine shop and they are fine for most uses. I also have Expensive starrets and their is next to no difference except for the battery life. The good thing about cheap calipers is you don't have to worry about dropping them and other abuse like using them as marking gauges. If I really need accuracy and repeatability I have some mitutoyo micrometers. Haven't used them in years and that was for measuring mylar sheets for electrostatic speakers.

Pinkbike Poll: Have You Ever Recycled A Frame?
I have taken in a couple of old or cracke Al frames from friends and use them as stock in cnc and other projects. I have taken the dropouts from a bike and used the diskmount to make a mount for my first bike, a gaint cadex. Used bottle mounts to move the bottle mount foward on my privee so I could mount a tool below it. And best of all used some tubes to make a small cnc router.

This shot is sooooo good, it is up there with any of the photo of the year photos. Makes me long to be back in Zermatt. Haven't been ther for 30+ years. Before mountain bikes were popular and only manage to ski a little and do a bit trapping.

Downhill's Decision Makers on the Future of World Cup Racing
I don't see the problem with long courses and showing complete runs. With HD web casts it should be possible to use split screen or PiP to show both riders on track. The main problem is probably the expense of more cameras/operators. Maybe fixed or remote control cameras could help here.

Not only are the lift riders watching, but it looks like his sister is watching or following. The rider on the skyline.
