If only there were some kind of, I don't know, "guiding" company, in the area, that could show people who've crossed the Atlantic some trails that aren't the groomed flow trails marked on the map.

@AndrewFleming: I think the op is suggesting that "Made in the USA" doesn't really have the cachet it did before the recent unfortunate events. Even if it was only really popular with the "sister in a whorehouse/brother on a "foreign" bike" brigade.

Video: Ludo May & Jérôme Caroli Ride 'The Best Trail in Switzerland'
Rode Col de Mille as the finale of a day shuttling (thanks Jarno/TrailTaxi!)around the Verbier area last summer, the best day's riding I've ever had, finished off with a proper emotional descent. I'd happily ride that every day for a week (if I could afford it).

Jesus, rule #1 of kids' (or "adults'") cycling - make it fun. Looks like she's having an awesome time, and ripping, on her "massively over-biked" machine, what more can you ask? I know the minute my lad could stand over my old Patriot (prob 12 or so), we softened it/made it fit as far as possible (bonding - tick) and ragged it around the woods. Smiles for miles. Totally unsuitable, naturally, but so what?
