Downhill Bikes of Sea Otter - Part 1
@valrock: So far nearly every single comment here (43 comments at time of posting) is about the aesthetics of the bikes. It's a sad time for a sport when it becomes overrun by vapid fashionistas. I truly can't wait for the next up and coming sport to become "the cool thing" so mountainbike design can go back to being about performance, and not just whether a certain bike matches your favourite handbag.

Transmission Cage Upgrades from Kogel, Ceramicspeed, and Cascade Components
@heinous: Ahh, so now you are talking about smashing the cage on rocks? Why would Sram replace that under warranty? You aren't making yourself very clear, what fault are you actually trying to describe here?

Transmission Cage Upgrades from Kogel, Ceramicspeed, and Cascade Components
@heinous: what exactly do you mean by "exploding due to flex"? In what situation is enough torque being applied to the lower cage for it to explode?

Transmission Cage Upgrades from Kogel, Ceramicspeed, and Cascade Components
@heinous: No torque goes through the cage... As long as it can reasonably accurately hold the upper jockey wheel in place while shifting (which hasn't been an issue since like 1995) then no more stiffness is required

Review: Race Face's Era Chainring Uses Steel, Carbon, & Aluminum
It does say on Racefaces website "We checked". So come on @raceface, we need a video of you dumping the clutch on a 5.9L diesel while bolted directly to this chainring.

First Ride: The Sub-$600 RockShox Domain and Psylo Forks
If these forks contain the same Debonair air spring as the more expensive forks, then there is no reason that there should be any noticeable top out if the rebound speed isn't excessive. Could you go into this in more detail @dariodigiulio? Currently something seems to be missing from the picture.

First Look: Marzocchi's New Super Z 38mm Fork
"Though Marzocchi doesn't explicitly condone this, certain configurations of the Super Z are also compatible with the new gravity-focused Grip X2 damper from Fox. You'll need to stick within the bounds of the 38's travel numbers, meaning 160-180mm forks only." While the Max travel on the Grip X2 may well be 180mm, you can go as short travel as you like. There would be zero problem fitting an X2 damper to a 150mm (or shorter) fork.

5 Key Stats From Downhill Racers in the Pinkbike State of the Sport Survey 2024
So basically, the views of pro riders and the views of the pinkbike comment section are pretty well aligned. For me that is the most interesting (and pleasing) thing about all of this.
