That Asama Seismic definitely has the shimano m290 acera cranks on it that were recalled for breaking. Shimano actually still honors this recall and will send out a recall kit including a crankset, bottom bracket, front derailleur, and chain.

A Closer Look at Faction's 32" Prototype XC Bike
26 will never die thanks to dirt jumpers/slopestyle bikes along with the resurgence in popularity of old school rigid mountain bikes. At the bike shop where I wrench, a customer recently brought in a fresh custom Marino frame designed around 26" wheels and rim brakes for facing and chasing before he builds it up. I have two 26" wheeled bikes, a dirt jumper and an old hucker hardtail frame built with with a 29" rigid fork and front wheel. Hell, if the right cool old frameset comes through the shop, I will absolutely build a 3rd 26er with swept back bars, fenders, rim brakes, and a basket for a comfy rain bike. 26 is alive and well to those who like just riding for the fun of it.
