At least their article/interview on here goes a bit more in depth than the ones on MTB-News did, seems they learnt a lesson or two. Doesn't change the fact they're charging a metric f***ton for an open mould frame, but at least they made their USP clearer this time

it probably has more to do with Intend being as small as they are, they can't hand out test units to every magazine like bigger companies can. There have been a few tests in the past though iirc and everyone I met who rides one seems to be very impressed.

Suntour probably just can't offer the same kind of package deal or low enough prices to offset this. And people rarely replace their forks on bikes they buy or build up frames only. Its just a tiny percentage, we here on pinkbike aren't representative at all in this regard. I also think SR Suntour makes most of their money making castings for Rock Shox and Fox, just like X-Fusion does. They also have a huge market share when it comes to cheap forks. So selling MTB suspension products might just be kind of a side-hustle to them.

@filryan: I gotta admit, arguing with people like that is indeed fun. It's not productive in any way unfortunately, because nothing can and will change their standpoint. I think the main problem isn't that people don't get taught about these subjects, but rather that they didn't learn how to critically analyze the sources of information they consumer. This, in my experience, especially applies to people who went to school before the internet, but are still young enough to use the full extent of technology nowadays. Schools nowadays have caught on to how important it is to teach people about how to notice whether a source is credibly or not. I might be a little off on how much I was taught in high school btw, it is entirely possible that I learned a few of those things in college. You are absolutely right, those people are the most dangerous. The first thing I was taught in my engineering design class, was to always have the dumbest person in mind and make sure that even they can't hurt themselves with your product. I can only imagine how bad it must be as an electrician. Geez, he does sound like a fun person. I mean it's certainly exciting, but I don't think I could make it through a day of working with this guy.

@filryan: Yes, they do prove it to us. I don't know about the physics classes in the UK, but where I went to school it was in fact proven to us. Regarding your last three points: -There is no sudden pressure difference and there is not one single height were outer space begins and the earths atmosphere ends. The earths atmosphere gradually gets thinner the higher you get, that's why aircraft have pressurized cabins. This also means that there multiple definitions of where space actually begins. The force is just orders of magnitude smaller than other forces the plane experiences. The most significant of them being wind, which in turn is affected greatly by the corriolis effect.
