Bike Check: Mic Williams' WRP DH-01
They wouldn’t be able to use this suspension design or have a modular drivetrain setup if they were constrained to the effigear’s output/pivot.

Review: Madrone Jab vs. Ratio Mech - Top Two Mechanical Derailleurs Compared
Mountain bikes are already a luxury item, if you wanna nerd out and send your money directly to people making good parts why not? We should be stoked on small companies making a fair wage for their work. As a musician I always try to buy stuff made locally if I can afford it, it supports my community and is easy to get in touch if I have an issue. Cheap shimano derailers and MXR fx pedals are always an option, but who wants to live in a world where our creative endeavors are monopolized by a few big companies?

26" Wheels & No Motors: 10 Vintage Gems From the Pinkbike BuySell
One of the first mountain bikes I rode as a kid was a Jeep branded hard tail haha. I remember it being pretty sturdy actually, I was a BMX rat and definitely beat the shit out of it jumping off stair sets and attempting to do 180s with a sky high seat post

Bafang Announces Two New E-Bike Motors With Up to 1700 Watts of Power
@lepigpen: that Bonell definitely doesnt fit the definition of “fitting in the downtube” tho. It’s just a giant fuckin’ motor and battery strapped to a cheap mtb frame with a throttle haha. At least we can tell it’s a motorcycle that doesn’t belong on mtb’s trails.

Nicolai & Gamux Release a Gearbox Equipped Downhill eMTB
@abzillah: the whole point of this bike is that it can easily self shuttle, at 65 pounds I don’t think you wanna sacrifice gear reduction lol. And the Gamux team is tied to Pinion/Gates so it’s gonna have a big old gear box and belt regardless

Intend Releases Elevator Dropper Seat Post
I mean anyone ordering an Intend fork is probably replacing a perfectly fine Fox or RockShox fork and not concerned about the price, and will happily order a matching Intend dropper post to replace whatever came stock as well. Nobody buys Intend components for the value lol

Kona Introduces New Remote 160 & Remote X Full-Power eMTBs
People keep saying that, but A: maybe Kona/people that like Kona’s simply enjoy the feel of their suspension. B: if they swapped to a Horst link tomorrow would you/other people suddenly start buying more of them? Probably not.

Kona Introduces New Remote 160 & Remote X Full-Power eMTBs
Naw, Amazon e-bikes are barely tack welded, have a 20 pound hub motor, and components made from hardened jello. This isn’t the sexiest ebike but it’s not comparable to an Amazon bike man.
