Intra Drive's Combined Motor & Gearbox Fits Bikes Designed For Shimano EP8 [Updated on expanding into the aftermarket]
@brianpark: I'll likely never own an e-bike but i'm not against them, but as someone that recently got back into modern mtb tech and likes to nerd out on it, I was surprised there wasnt a standard for e-motors! Other than money, the next biggest reason I wouldnt invest in a current e-mtb is the lack of standards. Buying a bike with a part that cant be swapped out or upgraded is really 1990s style technology. Thats like buying a bike and realizing the shock or fork is proprietary and cant be upgraded. How are smaller companies supposed to gain traction in the market when companies have to design a frame around one or two proprietary motors?

Video: Welcome to the 2023 Enduro Bike Field Test
Pole bikes are surprisingly competitive price wise, I'm always surprised at the spec for the money. Not that I would ever call a 7k bike a good deal, but compared to SC or Yeti....

@homerjm: The amount of sag doesnt affect the distance between the pedals and the seat though, thats the issue with long seat tubes.

Adolf Silva & Reed Boggs' Custom Yeti SB165's - Red Bull Rampage 2023
I think for riding Rampage, suspension kinematics arent as important. For DH racing and Enduro, you are trying to go as fast as possible while making split second decisions. Rampage isnt about the fastest bike riding the same track as everyone else, its about handling a few huge drops and calculated lines. Shock dampening seems to be way more important than suspension kinematics themselves.

Video Round Up: Building Lines at Red Bull Rampage 2023
I cant even comprehend that ridge line Szymon and Brenden are digging together. Looks less than a foot wide and a mile high.

Guerrilla Gravity Appears to Have Closed Up Shop
@onawalk: I wasnt at all trying to be a dick bud, I was just pointing out that comment from a former employee that seemed to explain the situation. They mentioned the Revved name was created after GG was started, as a way to do OEM work for other brands with their tech. So it doesnt sound like Revved is a parent company with more resources, just another name to put on OEM parts.

GasGas Launches ECC eMTB with WP / DVO Suspension
Yeah in general big brands just jump on a cycle trend with an off the shelf design and parts from Taiwan to sell to their target audience that already knows their name but could care less about the MTB scene. I mean Jeep and Hummer sell mountain bikes for fucks sakes. Gas Gas is literally just putting their name on an existing bike, they admitted as much recently.. Honda did something amazing 20 years ago with their DH team but then scrapped it. Other than that one instance I cant think of a time when an automotive/motorcycle company actually invested real resources into advancing MTB tech.

Guerrilla Gravity Appears to Have Closed Up Shop
@onawalk: The top comment on this article is a former employee saying that GG/Revved were the same company, they just created the "revved" name for doing OEM work for other clients.

Video: What's The Big Deal With High-Pivot Mountain Bikes?
I mean... Sure it is sponsored by Trek, but its not something exclusive to them. Half of the bike brands out there are making high pivot bikes, its a concept thats been around for decades. A video on high pivot theory is an article PB would likely do either way, but having someone pay them to do it is just a bonus. An entire sponsored video on something like Canyon's exclusive KIS system would be pretty fucking cringe though... GMBN
