People are going to really miss derailleurs in the next few years if they get stuck with pedaling through a mushy belt/cvt transmission. Derailleurs and chains/cogs are incredibly efficient and give you immediate feedback when you change ratios.

Specialized Is Trying to Make E-Bike Overlanding a Thing
Yeah this would make way more sense on a budget platform. You dont need top tier downhill spec suspension or lightweight components to lug 100 pounds of gear around the woods. Aluminum frame, budget suspension and drivetrain, include a second battery mounted to the rack.
