Video: Race Day Carnage from the Thredbo Cannonball DH 2022
So, you set the standard for how, and how much to cheer people on around here? Everyone cheering - in a positive way - at the race course is a plus in my book at least. We need more people cheering, and fewer people telling others to cheer less. :) In that way, Jack is a positive example for others. Have fun out there, guys/gals/diverse!

Video: $180 vs. $1900 Contact Points - Budget vs. Baller Episode 3
I'm with you when talking about dropper and saddle (or tires fwiw), but I ride this exact stem (one in black and one in silver on the DJ) on a "multi thousand dollar enduro bike" (in the lower "multi thousands, mind you). Some friends do, too. For years going strong now. These are not downgrades per se - depends on what was on the bike before. In this case, I don't think they're upgrades, either. They are what I would go for when strapped for cash and NEED a 35mm stem (maybe old one broke, maybe got a 60mm on before the swap,...).

Agree. A few friends and I ride the stem (me on several different bikes for years now, swapped over in some cases, outliving some bikes), and a friend rides the bars. They're fine. no complaints, don't know what you would expect of a stem more than "it's there, it doesn't break, is the right length". With handlebars I see the personal preference point, and one like the One Up making claims about vibration damping. But again, those bars are fine.

Video: Welcome to the 2021 Summer Field Test - Enduro and eMTBs
@blackercanyons: some do some don't. I use my decoy for my work commute. Brute I got it, it was a car drive. I shuttle less to trails in intermediate range to me, instead use the ebike. For far away trails or bikeparks, ofc I shuttle. With any bike.

@BenTheSwabian: honest question, have you ever ridden one, on real trails? I find out for me ebike could do two things, save time or save energy (or obviously a mix). If you choose to go fast uphill, you can really tax yourself but do it a lot quicker - so more runs. It is, obviously duh, not the same thing. But saying it takes out the sporting spirit is either gatekeeping, or I never "got it" in the first place, on my normal mtb.

Day 2 Randoms - Eurobike 2021
@preston67: your concern is understandable... but coming from a Durolux from like 2 years back I can wholeheartedly recommend them - be it on performance merits, or price to performance, or serviceability. The last one especially is great, it's so easy to work on them yourself! Also stuff like lowering the travel yourself is done easily, i liked it a lot. Then I got a new bike, with 29er and a new fork with it. Can't be arsed to upgrade a perfectly working Fox 36... :D (though I'd like to go Formula Selva C/coil)

Mathieu Van Der Poel Makes History at the Second Stage of the Tour De France
@TheJD: @thenotoriousmic: i normally don't comment much, and especially not on stupid shit like this. but I kinda need to distance myself as a pinkbike reader, as do probably a lot others as well, from the stupidity you spit here about "delighted" by "horrifically injured" people, on top of that bike riders... so to anyone that read his comment: i hope your disdain for road racing as a discipline, involving all its problems, does not impair your kindness towards other people in generall, even said racers! Be most excellent to each other!

Review: Trickstuff's Powerful & Pricey Maxima Brakes
@NotNamed: You do realize that those brakes were, mostly, engineered by the same guy that runs Intend and that the amount sold is most propably on the same level (within a reasonable margin)? I would guess pricing is in no small part machine time, and those consume a lot per brake. If I had money to burn, it could ge there. But alas, I don't :(

10 Men's Kits Tested - 2019 Summer Gear Guide
@atrokz: holy smokes he throws a little shade at America about overweight people (which is pretty well documented, not to say the person he threw it at is, or that it was funny even), and you go all out race bs on him, with genes disappearing and some bs about athletes on World level (ever heard of biathlon/nordic skiing? Your claim is stupid and wrong on so many levels)... Plz do some meditation and think about proportionality.

Review: Thule RoundTrip Traveler Bike Bag
@andydd: exactly! I went to Sweden and Norway by train, and all the hauling around of the bag would have been a royal pain in the ass without those (as mentioned in the article) incredibly smooth wheels! Can't recommend putting ALL your gear in the bag with the bike, though, as wheeling it from a to b when it's heavy WILL strain your hands (I had all clothing, bike gear, and tools in the Thule bag). I can't even complain about the big price tag, because I got mine from Decathlon for 130€, which is fair for what you get. I would NOT pay 400€ for it, to be honest. At below 150€ I think it's a great investment!
