@plyawn: I recently bought a Yalla V2 that shipped from Germany via DHL and was handed off to Canada Post for final delivery. In Canada, we don’t pay VAT—just GST/PST as mentioned—but there is still an import fee.
Make sure you double-check the HS code. CBSA applied the wrong one to my frame, which resulted in a 17% duty charge. You have to pay this at delivery. The correct HS code was clearly listed on all the paperwork from RAAW, but it was still misclassified.
A lot of people might just pay it and move on, but I’ve filed a dispute and am currently waiting on a refund. Just keep in mind that the process can take a while.
