Mountain Biker, 75, Continues Riding For 30 Minutes After Rattlesnake Bite
Rattlesnakes are probably my least favorite animal to come across on a ride. Thankfully I've never fallen on one. The first time I saw/heard one was also the last day I ever rode with ear buds in.

Video: Josh Bryceland's First Ride on a Cannondale Habit
Eh, I liked my Cannondale back when I rode one. It was a carbon Trigger back when they made them with 26" wheels. Fun bike, climbed really well and felt good enough on the descents. Not a bad bike for a DH guy to ride around the local XC loops. Unfortunately, I snapped the seatstays when a small branch ended up getting kicked up in my spokes, so that was the end of that...

2019 Racing Rumors: Gwin Off YT, Ratboy to Cannondale, & More
Lots of people in here are pretty butt hurt about Gwin wanting to get paid as much as he can. His house. His McLaren. Whatever. I mean, dude is one of the best ever in a sport we all love. But how dare he maximize his earning potential or buy anything fun. Ever hear the "crabs in a bucket" analogy?

Pinkbike Poll - How Much Did You Spend on Your Bike?
I'm a car guy, too. My mentality is the same when it comes to both bikes and cars... wait for the awesome stuff to depreciate, then buy it moderately used for a fraction of the price. I can have an awful lot of fun with a three year old bike or a ten year old car, while still being able to actually afford to stay in the game. It's worked out pretty well so far.

MTB Strong: 5 Exercises to Create Strength
@dualsuspensiondave: Not to say it's a miraculous cure-all, but my constant lower back pain completely disappeared within a few months of learning how to deadlift (with good form). Bad form seems to be the cause of most injuries.

MTB Strong: 5 Exercises to Create Strength
Deadlifts are, in my opinion, the best possible movement one can perform for overall strength. Although front squats aren't bad. I found that my riding improved most when I started powerlifting: Bench, Squat, Dead, Overhead Press. But if the goal is to get strong, and you can only do one thing... deadlift, deadlift, deadlift.

SRAM – UCI World Cup DH Fantasy Contest – Rd 1, Lourdes
I sort of hope no 29ers end up on the podium, too. No offense to the guys running them. But I doubt that will happen

1 Question: What's the Most Important Part of Your Off-Season?
@WAKIdesigns: Also, I had a brief chat on instagram with Aaron Gwin a few months ago about deadlifting. I kept hinting at wanting to know what his 1RM was (so I could see if there's something I'm better at than Aaron Gwin) but he didn't take the bait. I'm sure it's more than I'm expecting, though.

1 Question: What's the Most Important Part of Your Off-Season?
@dualsuspensiondave: 5/3/1 was such a game changer for me. I had been stuck at a 1RM 270 bench, 410 dead, and 315 squat for so damn long. Within about two months on the program, I gave all three a shot, and all three had been improved upon, some more significantly than others. The only downside is that it gets a little bit repetitive, but I guess that's a price that's worth paying. I took a few months off from serious lifting due to a really busy schedule and living in two different states, but now that things are settling down for the summer, I'm going right back to 5/3/1. I have Rippetoe's book. Several people I know are huge fans of it. I've skimmed through it, but haven't really sat down and read the thing cover to cover, which I might do this week.
