@wynmasters: Although it would be absolutely cool to see some of the heavy hitters on a hardtail at a WC event. Just think, you could be riding a dream steel Tora ht with a 200mm fork. I get that this stuff is people's livelihoods as other people have pointed out, but it's good to remember that mountain biking was built on a foundation of doing ridiculous but fun shit on bikes.

Would be cool if Microshift comes out with an 11-50 10 speed, like call it Advent X2 or something. I don't think the high gears need to be quite so close in tooth count. It would help ease the transition up to a 50t.
